First Round (15th overall) - Lawrence Timmons OLB Florida St (6'-3" 232lb's) - Joey Porter's replacement. Timmons has the sideline to sideline speed that makes him a good replacement for Porter. I think he could even be an upgrade over Porter. This is not to say they took the BPA but he's a definite need. The negative on Timmons is that he's only had one full year of being a starter in college. The upside is that he's very instictive and has the where with all to beat lineman with his speed.

2nd Round (46th overall) - LaMarr Woodley DE Michigan (6'-2" 269 lbs) - Another OLB in the 3-4 or a smaller 4-3 DE. The 3-4 might not be the best fit for LaMarr as he doesn't have the speed to be a pass rusher. I've heard that he fits best in a Cover-2 system as Tomlin has run before. Seems like he's been drafted as a sign of the future which could or could not be in the near future. Sounds crazy but it looks to me like Tomlin is hedgeing his bets either way with Timmons and LaMarr. Timmons could easily be a stud WLB in a 4-3.

3rd Round (77th overall) - Matt Spaeth TE Minnesota (6'-7" 267 lbs) - Limited blocker, decent hands, doesn't have the speed to be a down field threat. This pick really makes me scratch my head. As well as the people in Pittsburgh.

4th Round (112th overall) - Daniel Sepulceda P Baylor (6'-3" 229lbs) - Is this guy a LB or a P???? The only really knock on him is he tends to hit line drives giving his team less time to get down field to make a play/tackle.

4th Round (132nd overall) - Ryan McBean DE Oklahoma State (6'-5" 290 lbs) - Another guy that fits better in the 4-3. Might be a 3-4 end but he needs more bulk to be effective and hold his ground. Another sign of the future.

5th Round (156 overall) - Cameron Stephenson OG Rutgers (6'-3" 306) - Raw but has experience at both T and G which is always a plus for teams.

5th Round (170th overall) - William Gay CB Louisville (5'10" 187 lbs) - Not a big guy which will hurt in run support but will really only be an effective nickle corner.

7th Round (227 overall) - Dallas Baker WR Florida (6'-3" 207 lbs) - Has been called soft by some scouts as he likes to leap and grab instead of fighting for the ball in traffic.
