Seattle Seahawk's Draft Review

Seattle went into the draft as one of the top teams in the NFL but with Key loses at Corner and Offensive Guard, they had some holes to fill. Here is my .02 cents on the Seahawks draft.
Pick 1.31 - Kelly Jennings, CB, Miami - Great value at this pick for Seattle. With a huge hole to fill at corner, they got one of the top DBs in the draft. Jennings is a former Miami Hurricane, and those Canes tend to transition very well to the NFL game. He should make an immediate impact for the Seahawks. Pick Grade - A
Pick 2.31 - Darryl Tapp, DE, Virginia Tech - Another great pick. Maybe the best pure pass rusher in the draft and will help take some pressure off of aging Grant Wistrom. In my opinion, Tapp will crack the starting lineup before the season ends opposite of Bryce Fisher. I thought they should have gone with Max Jean-Giles at this point as the need for guard was bigger than DE but then they proved me wrong with their next pick. Pick Grade - A
Pick 4.41 - Rob Sims, OG, Ohio St - A former buckeye, so you know this guy has strapped it up against the best. He should transition easy into the NFL. May not start this year but will find himself in a starting position as he grows into the NFL game. Pick Grade - A
Pick 5.31 - David Kirtman, FB, USC - Again, they Hawks stick with drafting players from big time colleges that can excel right away in the NFL game. Can learn the game from one of the best in Mack Strong, and should help the team blocking for Shawn Alexander in the future. Pick Grade - C
Pick 7.31 - Ryan Plackemeier, P, Wake Forest - Labeled as the best punter in this draft, and when you've filled all the holes that you have on your team, why not grab a special teams guy that can help out the defense by giving them field position. Pick Grade - C+
Pick 7.41 - Ben Obomano, WR, Auburn - A VERY solid pick at the end of the 7th round. Obomano came into Auburn with very high expectation surrounding him. He never really lived up to the hype, but in my opinion, that's because Auburn runs the ball constantly. Had Obomano gone to USC or Arizona St, he could have been a 1st or 2nd rounder. Great value at this point in the draft. Pick Grade - C+
Seattle had a fantastic overall draft. They did what teams should do in my opinion, and they filled their needs. Overall, I'd say they have improved even over last years team, meaning they will find the playoffs again this year. Overall draft grade - A
