Miami Dolphins November Report
By Andy Sexton

Following their bye week in week 8, Miami pulled off what seemed to be the biggest upset of the season when they destroyed the Bears 31-13 on November. The Dolphins have since followed up with wins over K.C., Minnesota, and Detroit to make it 4 straight. Just like last year when the Dolphins won 6 straight to finish 9-7, it will probably be too little, too late for the Dolphins. Even if Miami wins the rest of their games to go 10-6, and that is a big if considering they still have Jacksonville, N.E, and road games against Buffalo and Indy, they still could easily miss the playoffs. Denver and Kansas City sit at 7-4 and hold both wild cards. That means K.C. would have to lose 2 games down the stretch and Denver probably 3 based on tiebreakers. There are also many good teams sitting at 6-5 right now like Cincy and Jacksonville. Miami would need lots of help to reach the postseason this year. It makes Dolphin fans wonder what could have been after losing to Houston and Green Bay early in the year. Let’s take a look at the boom and bust Fantasy players for the Dolphins this year
Boom: Wes Welker jumped onto the scene early in the year but has faded since. Ronnie Brown has been productive but is now out with an injury. Joey Harrington has actually had some great games but is inconsistent. No offensive player has really been a great play fantasy wise for the Phins. On Defense, however, Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas have put up their usual top numbers. Vonnie Holliday and Keith Traylor have also been solid plays on the D-Line.
Bust: Obviously, the biggest disappointment fantasy-wise for Miami is QB Daunte Culpepper who stunk it up for a few games and has not seen the field since. He most likely will not see the field the rest of the year and will hope to come back healthy next year. WR Chris Chambers has also been a huge disappointment as many expected huge numbers from him with Culpepper at the helm.
Fantasy Playoff Implications:
DL Taylor and LB Thomas are definite starts every week from week 14-16. I would definitely try to avoid most Dolphin offensive players as the schedule is not favorable to high scoring. If Brown comes back strong from injury, he could be a good play in week 15 against Buffalo.
