With the trade deadline over, let's take a look at the league.

First thing to note is how many teams have a shot at the playoffs. With close division races anywhere away from the Legend, i count 11 teams vying for 5 playoff spots. This typifies how the season started as most favorites, those teams that have made the playoffs in most seasons, lost while most underdogs won. Topsy-turvy season which could put some new faces into the playoffs. Possible first-time playoff participants = Soggy Bottom Boys, Raven Maniacs & Warlord Phantoms (although their OIDs have been there before), Sic Sic Sic um Dogs and Beast From the Northeast.

Second item to look at are the last minute trades (11/06-and-on), all of which involving the aforementioned playoff pool except for Z, who gutted his roster to try to return to domination in 2009. Soggy made a couple of minor moves to shore up his defense. Mephisto tried to improve at WR & ILB depth. Warlord traded DE depth for extra help at TE & OLB (w/McAllister now on IR). Lost and Found traded for WR depth. Beast entered a monster trade with Legend trading for a bunch of 2-thru-4 picks and depth while Legend picked up a couple good OL & a good safety. Outside of that huge trade, Legend shored up his DEs with 3 good ones, kevin williams, antonio gates and Matt Roth, only losing Randy Moss (ignoring picks). So i think the big trade winner, who already had a huge lead on the pack as it was, was Roy the Legend.

So what does this mean for those that could fortunately make the playoffs but unfortunately face what most likely will be the top seed? I'll do that next...

Here are the 11 teams vying for 5 playoff spots listed with win/loss record and ppg, divided by division since all have a shot at their division as well as a wild-card.

01 Soggy Bottom Boys @ 8-6, 395
03 Thunderwolves @ 7-7, 426
04 The Omen @ 9-5, 406

05 Raven Maniacs (666) @ 9-5, 382
06 Liberty Vultures @ 8-6, 393
07 mephistopheles666reconstruxion @ 9-5, 446
08 Warlord Phantoms @ 8-6, 401

09 Lost and Found...some Help @ 7-7, 412
10 Beast From the Northeast @ 6-8, 378
11 Sic Sic Sic um Dogs @ 6-8, 365
12 Marauders 666 @ 8-6, 381

Now, here are their opponents:

01) 03 15 16 02
03) 01 13 14 04
04) 02 14 15 03

05) 07 11 12 06
06) 08 12 09 05
07) 05 09 10 08
08) 06 10 11 07

09) 11 07 06 10
10) 12 08 07 09
11) 09 05 08 12
12) 10 06 05 11

The stronger-than-average teams are in bold. Those teams at the higher range are also bold-red.

In division #1, teams #1 and #4 both play Thunderwolves and The Omen. I think this hurts Soggy Bottom Boys and will pit Omen vs Thunderwolves with the key game week 13. I'm thinking Omen will end up at 11-7, with Thunderwolves and Soggy at 10-8.

In division #2, Raven has the toughest schedule, then Liberty. But this division has been-up-and down despite PPG, so i think we'll all split in-division. Outside division, i think Warlord wins 2, Raven & i split and Liberty slips in week 12. That leaves a 3-way tie at 11-7 with Liberty and 10-8.

In division #3, i think Lost and Found can go 4-0, marauders 3-1, and Beast and Sic Um 1-3. That'd have Marauders and Lost and Found at 11-7 with Marauders winning on divisional record. Beast and Sic Um would be 7-11.

Remember, these are all wild guesses at what will happen. There have been some wild point swings this season (except Legend, who has been pretty consistent throughout).

Matchups+:

Legendary #1 seed quest

You'd think Legend should be able to beat Rat Patrol handily just comparing PPG. He also would like a loss from mephisto and especially the Omen, since Legend already beat mephisto and has yet to play Omen.

Beast From the Northeast @ Marauders 666

Given their divisional records, this is Beast's last chance at the division, and given the competition for a wild-card, probably a must-win to make the playoffs in general. Marauders is trying to stay ahead of the resurgent Lost and Found. Beast has Tamba & A.Gonzalez OUT and probably will have Kyle Orton back, while Marauders are only a little thin at LB.

Soggy Bottom Boys @ Thunderwolves

Soggy beat Thunderwolves by 200 points back in week 5. Despite that, Soggy is the underdog in this vital game to keep pace with The Omen (who plays You Gotta Love It). Both teams are starting "replacement" QBs.

Raven Maniacs (666) @ mephistopheles666reconstruxion

I think every team in DIV 2 has been leading the division at one point. Raven was the early leader and has bobbed back up a couple times. Mephisto started out the second-worst team after 2 weeks to rise back up in this 4-way fight. Winner takes sole lead with 3 games to go.

Results:

Legendary #1 seed quest

Legend and Omen each won by about 40 points apiece so Roy has to wait one more week to clinch the #1 seed.

Beast From the Northeast @ Marauders 666

Marauders beat Beast in a low-scoring event. Kurt Warner is Marauders's MVP.

Soggy Bottom Boys @ Thunderwolves

Soggy did well scoring nearly 400 points but Thunderwolves eclipsed 500 keeping the pressure on Omen.

Raven Maniacs (666) @ mephistopheles666reconstruxion

Raven struggled to surpass 300 points. Mephisto had three 40+ point players to take the div lead.
