Foster Owner Signup Thread

EFS Members,

If you are interested in becoming a foster owner and overseeing a team that has not been purchased please post the following information in the thread.

Name - Your Name Here
Customer ID - Your customer ID that I will need to assign to the foster team
Scoring Format Preference - Are you a 16 Tm enhanced or a 12 Tm base. You can also choose no preference.

If social services determines you are a fit parent, I will assign you to a team of my choosing and notify you of your responsibilities.

Foster parents are to manage the team. This does not mean, gut the next 3 years of draft picks to make the team win now. What it does mean is to be active in UFA and RFA where applicable. Vote on trades and be an active owner. We want the teams to be in good shape for when a new owner does come in, they feel they are buying a good team that has been in good hands and just needs a permanent home.

If a team you foster gets purchased, please re-list yourself if you wish to continue in the foster owner process.

Well, I got a L13 team yesterday morning and started major surgery. By the evening I had made about 6000 transactions, including a bunch of UFA bids and some trade negotiations.

I woke up this morning to find myself an ex-owner. Someone must have liked what I was doing, cuz MAN that team sucked before I started. Now, they have some hope of competing.

I guess I'm open to foster another one, not in the leagues below. Prefer 16EE.

Wow, that restiction will certainly help rebuilding my 0-17 foster team.

We're not restricted in a sense. What I do, if there's a trade that makes me wonder if it would be frowned upon by management, I simply drop them a line with the trade scenario and if it would be more beneficial or less. A draft class like this makes it a bit trickier too. You don't have that Adrian Peterson name (etc etc) that would help attract some new blood, therefore I think using/trading draft picks could be a good idea. Do names like Wells (always getting hurt), Crabtree (already having surgery), Sanchez or Stafford make you think someone new is salivating at buying a team? I just say be smart. I'm more worried about some foster owners placing bids of 7 million/per on a player, then 6 mil on another and 5 million on another. Wowzers

It boils down to a difference in philosophy. EFS' stance is to allow the new owner the flexibility to make their own moves as much as possible and having the draft picks available allows for that option much more then just having players. Some owners prefer to build with veterans some choose to draft rookies and watch them develop. EFS' stance is to err on the side of youth and keep the draft picks in tact as much as possible.

Jason as mentioned we would like to get a foster owner for League 787 team name is "The Big Show" (OID = 10) as a league we have probably sent 2 dozen emails asking for a reply from this team as to status and no reply to date. This is a private money league so any owner who would be interested in the team permanently feel free to check out the team on the orphan list. This is a 16 team enhanced scoring league - Total fee is $100 with payouts for Champ $300 - Runner up $140 and 4 division winners $50 each - not a lot but makes it worth more than bragging rights. Owners are very active so you should enjoy yourself. If you have questions feel free to contact me.

In the mean time a FOSTER would be much appreciated to get started.

I could take on another orphan to help out . I hate having these guys wait. Team 10 looks to be the team that needs the least amount of attention in that league (set up pretty good), being this would be my 3rd foster team that would be ideal but if you get a newer owner wanting to help out, I imagine this team would be best for them to run, and I would take one of the other 2. Just a thought

edit: after further review, team 10 in league 66 has pretty horrible picks over the next few years. Feel free to give me team 10 and I can try to get some of those early picks back for them
