If you own an iPod Touch or an iPhone, for only $2.99 you can download the Tapatalk iPhone App (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=307880732&mt=8) which will let you view the EFS Forums as well reply to threads/posts and create your own threads. This app was launched last week and the folks at Tapatalk plan on implementing a lot of the suggestions offered up by the Tapatalk community. After you install the app on your iPod Touch or iPhone, search for the EFS Forums in the Sports section.
Here is what has been suggested so far:
Support for smilies
Show who's online
Private messaging (Tapatalk is working on this)
A way to go to bottom/top of page without scrolling
Administrator & Moderation Tools (Delete Post/Thread, Close Thread, Stick Thread, Ban User)
Being able to register via the app
Ability to email a link via a button like safari
Ability to shut off the "sent from iPhone" tagline (can do now via iPhone settings)
Editing a post
Changing the main icons of each forum "instead of the little microphone" (they are working on this)
Ability to save images to your iPhone like how you can in safari by holding your finger on the image
Quote a post in reply
Search a thread
An option to display the year as part of the post timestamp. Especially once you enable a search function, it will be very important to display the year.
My suggestions:
There should be a way to distinguish read and unread treads/posts within the forum hierarchal structure, perhaps somehow making use of the blue dot the iPhone mail app uses for read and unread mail. For instance, placing the blue dot next to a forum with new threads and placing it next to a thread that contains new replies (my suggestion)
Subscribed forums (currently you can only subscribe to threads)
Push notification for new replies made in subscribed threads
Ability to post and/or vote on polls and have the results show
When selecting on a user's threads and posts from their user page, going exactly to that thread/post and not to the top of the forum where that thread/post exists, which is the behavior now
Somehow letting one know if there have been any new threads/posts made in their favorite forums. Maybe placing the number badge on top of the forums icon listing the total number of threads & posts. This lets the user know to go in to a particular forum to look for new threads/posts, aided by the above suggestion of the 'blue dot' for unread threads & posts.
