I recall a discussion last year or perhaps even earlier about EFS instituting a new rule that would limit the number of PS players that a team could have on its roster in the offseason. whatever became of that?

To my recollection we discussed limiting the PS players in offseason to something like 12 or 13....but I could be wrong about the exact number.

can anyone enlighten us about this?

thanks

Not sure exactly what's being asked here as there is always a limit of 53/8 on the roster not matter what time of year it is.

Currently in Lg 1000 we are beta testing letting any players acquired from the most current rookie draft to be exempt from the roster count during the EFS off-season. They still must be signed to a contract and the salary and contracts will count toward the necessary caps. This is also expanding to undrafted rookie free agents acquired after the rookie draft is over. This will be evaulated and announced as to whether it makes it into the 2010 rules set later this summer.

last year there was a discussion about limiting the number of PS players a team could accumulate on its roster in the offseason to 10 or 12, in light of some teams having 16 or 20 PS players on their roster in the offseason.

just wondering whatever happened to that discussion....

sorry for not making it clearer...

Not sure we are going to resolve that issue due to the fact that:

1) the owner will eventually have to cut these players to set starters for week 1
2) Salary penalties will occur at the time of release
3) These players will immediately go to UFA upon release allowing for pickup for week 1
4) Owners can always raise bids on players in UFA to prevent an owner from acquiring these players

Feel free to state your argument for why you feel this needs to be addressed and we can review the merits.
