View Full Version : Bidding on a Franchise Player

I have placed the highest bid that the computer would allow me to place on a player tagged as a franchise player. That would be 5 years/$3 million. The intent was to certainly make the bid much higher than that. However, I am unable to go back into that franchise player for another team to "up my own bid." I can go into other players that I currently have high bids on and it appears as though I could add to those bids if I wanted. Is there some reason that because the player is a franchise player that I cannot up my own bid. Do I have to wait for someone else to bid? If that's the case, I never would have made the bid at 5 years/$3 million as it represented a savings to the current owner of the player. The intent would have been to make the bid considerably higher than his current salary, but it looks like I cannot do that for some reason.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeff

The reason you can't raise the bid is because you need your own #1 next year to bid on a franchise player. Since you can only have one of those you can never raise your own franchise bid. So yes you need to wait for someone to raise the bid for you.
