Playoff Watch Week 11:

A friend of mine in another league created a “What If” spreadsheet to see how different scenarios will affect the playoff teams. Of course I took it and applied it to our league. Because week 11 is a double header week there are still a lot of people in the hunt. The picture will be clearer come next Tuesday.

First here is what the playoff picture looks like now:

Current Playoff Teams (end of week 10):

Seed 1: Dogtown Bloody Mongrels (11-2) {clinched playoff slot}

Seed 2: Hicksville Hawks (11-2) {clinched division}

Seed 3: Lil Orfan Mainiacs (8-5)

Seed 4: Fortin’s Fearsome (8-5)

Seed 5: huskies (7-6)

Seed 6: Big Dawgs (7-6)

Hope Springs Eternal: Montgomeryville Mean Machine (6-7), Benchwarmers 35 (6-7), Lithuanian Llamas (5-8)

Need so much help they might as well pack it up and move out of the country: Attleboro Assassins (4-9), Schwentz Domination (4-9), Wolverines (1-12, this team won their division in 2004)

Because there are so many “What If”s left, I predicted the winner of the remaining games using our average scores (I did this last year but there were some surprises).

If the average scores hold up the Playoffs will look like this:

Seed 1: Dogtown Bloody Mongrels (15-2) {1st round bye}

Seed 2: Hicksville Hawks (14-3) {1st round bye}

Seed 3: Lil Orfan Mainiacs (11-6)

Seed 4: Fortin’s Fearsome (12-5)

Seed 5: huskies (11-6)

Seed 6: Montgomeryville Mean Machine (9-8)

The Big Dawgs (7-10) fall out because their remaining games are against the Mainiacs, huskies, Frearsome and Mongrels. That’s a tough schedule.

Good luck this week to everyone except the Hawks and Assassins!!!

Playoff Watch Week 12:

Week 11 double headers did supply some excitement.

The woeful Wolverines took two uping their record to 3-12. Schwentz Domination also won both of there games to creep back into the playoff picture. The Mainiacs scored the most points this week to win both games and solidify their hold on the 3rd Seed.

First here is what the playoff picture looks like now. Of note the Hawks took the #1 seed away from the Mongrels by beating them 482-477 and the Big Dawgs beat the huskies 416-396 thus swapping the 5th and 6th seeds.:

Current Playoff Teams (end of week 11):

Seed 1: Hicksville Hawks (12-3) {clinched division}

Seed 2: Dogtown Bloody Mongrels (12-3) {clinched division}

Seed 3: Lil Orfan Mainiacs (10-5) {will clinch division with win over huskies this week}

Seed 4: Fortin’s Fearsome (9-6)

Seed 5: Big Dawgs (8-7)

Seed 6: huskies (8-7)

Still have a shot: Montgomeryville Mean Machine (7-8), Benchwarmers 35 (6-9), Schwentz Domination (6-9)

The Mean Machine’s best hopes are to win both of the remaining games and hope the Big Dawgs and huskies both lose. The Machine loses the Head-to-Head tiebreaker to both of these guys. But has H2H supremacy over both teams behind him.

As for the Benchwarmers and Domination: Obviously a loss puts them out of the running.

Any three-way ties at 8-9 would go to the Big Dawgs and huskies right now based upon their Total Points Scored.

The Benchwarmers would win a H2H tiebreaker against the huskies, Machine and Domination. Being in the same division as the Big Dawgs they would win the Division Record tiebreaker based upon the Dawgs losing their last two division games (which is how we would have gotten into this mess to begin with.)

Domination wins the H2H against the Big Dawgs but not the huskies. They lose the Division Record tiebreaker against the Machine based upon being 1-6 in the division right now.

Start thinking about next year: Lithuanian Llamas (5-10), Attleboro Assassins (4-11), Wolverines (3-12)

Enjoy your Turkey and the Cowboys beating the Broncos.

Happy Day!!!

IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT A PLAYOFF TEAM YOU NEED TO RENEW YOUR TEAM BEFORE DECEMBER 5TH TO KEEP IT!!!![/b]

Playoff Watch Week 13:

Here’s what happened in week 12:

huskies clinched a playoff spot by beating the Mainiacs and jumped up to the 5th seed, the door is still open for a divisional title

Llamas beat the Wolverines but they are both out of it so who cares?

Schwentz Domination held on to their playoff hopes with a victory over the Mean Machine who are out of it based upon losing tiebreakers to the Big Dawgs

Hawks lost to the Assassins but it doesn’t matter because the Mongrels lost also

Fortin’s Fearsome locked up the 4th seed with a win over the Big Dawgs who’s worse nightmare may be realized if they can’t win this week against the Mongrels.

Benchwarmers stayed in the hunt with a win over the Mongrels.

Current Playoff Teams (end of week 12):[/b]
[/b]
Seed 1: Hicksville Hawks (12-4) {clinched division}[/b]

Seed 2: Dogtown Bloody Mongrels (12-4) {clinched division}[/b]

Seed 3: Lil Orfan Mainiacs (10-6) {clinched playoff slot}[/b]

Seed 4: Fortin’s Fearsome (10-6) {clinched playoff slot}[/b]

Seed 5: huskies (9-7) {clinched playoff slot}[/b]

[/b]Seed 6: Big Dawgs (8-8) {are in big trouble}

Remaining Playoff scenarios:

Big Dawgs still control their own destiny, a win this week and they are in. They will take the 5th seed away from the huskies with a win and a huskies loss.

Schwentz Domination and Benchwarmers still have hope if they win and the Big Dawgs lose and fall to 8-9, here’s how:

A three-way tie at 8-9 would go to the Big Dawgs based upon Total Points Scored.

The Benchwarmers would win a two way tie with the Big Dawgs based on a better Division Record.

Domination wins the two way tie with the Big Dawgs as they beat them by 2 points in week 5 (those goose eggs from McCardell and Ogunleye may hurt, I’ve got a similar story regarding the Saints Defense in 2000)

Good luck to everyone except the New York Giants!
