I was looking through the foster teams and noticed in the League Ultimate EFS OID 14. That team is such shambles, and dont know if that was the foster owner that did it or previous, 39 PS players and if you cut the required 31, you would be in negative salary, then there is 5 players over 5 mil and 2 over 6 mil. Dont know if the foster owner did it, but just thought id bring it to somebodys attention
After reviewing the team I don't see it in the same light as you do. First, the PS cuts only count 25% of salary so cutting 31 @ .350 per players is only 3.8M which leaves the owner approximately 50% of his available salary right now. Secondly, there are a lot of worthy gambles on the PS and some have already hit.
Craig Steltz, Kyle Cook, Nate Livings, Damion McIntosh, and Michael Jenkins are already penciled in as starters for their clubs and there are another 6-10 players that could earn spots. The rest are rookies and other players that at the time of acquisition appeared to be in the running for jobs.
As far as the high priced veterans, there are only 6 players making over 3M and I think you can justify Tony Romo, David Garrard, Larry Johnson and London Fletcher based on their productivity and relative scarcity at their positions. Johnson and Angelo Crowell appear to have gotten big contracts before their production fell and well before the foster owner took over. Eric Coleman and Larry Johnson are already in the last years of those big contracts and Zach Thomas has just 2 years left so there doesn't appear to be long term penalties building up.
Overall this team appears to have good building blocks with Romo and Garrard at QB, Slaton, LJ, Ryan Grant and Shonne Greene at RB, Heath Miller at TE, and Santana Moss, Roy Williams, Steve Smith (Car), and Donnie Avery at WR for the offense.
On defense, DB's Coleman, Dawkins, Horton, Johnson, Piscitelli and Steltz give good safety coverage. CB's are thin but there is room for trade with the safties. DL is thin at DE with only Will Smith as a prime name but DT has Rockey Bernard and Fred Robbins. LB's are ok with good ILB depth in Crowder, Fletcher, Dhani Jones and Zach Thomas, and OLB's are a bit thin with Crowell, Adibi/June, and Akeem Jordan but the ILB's can fill in there if needed.
OL needs work but has 3 deep at OC and 3 OG starters. OT needs some depth.
Not all the pieces are there but the team does have all but a 3rd available for next year's draft and all picks for 2010 and 2011. I think this team is definitely worth buying and with some crafty trades, UFA acquisitions and good drafting, this team can be competitive in the near future.

I definately agree with Jason. Especially conisderating it's a 16 team league. With a good owner taking advantage of UFA's, trades, and rookie drafts, this team could be contending for a playoff spot with in a year or two.
