Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember a FA link that took you to a UFA page that had timestamps for when the player would be picked up if he was not bid on again. Does this still exist somewhere or is there another place to find it?

Thanks,

yes, the UFA Bid list page, along with the player bid page. On the UFA Bid list page, place the cursor over the team name with the last bid.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought if I increased my own bid on a player in RFA that the timestamp wouldn't change??? I did this on Milford Brown in Lg 58 about 5 min before the bid was going to lock, but it appears to have reset his timestamp and now he doesn't lock until 4/2. Is this correct, because I thought raising your own bid wouldn't affect the timestamp?? Thanks.

i checked this before i installed the new rfa bidding. rfa bidding would always update the timestamp. UFA bidding doesn't.

What "is" the benefit to re-upping your own bid? I understand, if when you do that, the date stamp resets. But what is the benefit to re-upping if the date stamp doesn't change? Just curious if I'm not thinking of something

I did it because I knew the bid was about to lock, but I was afraid that my current bid was too low and that the owner would match it. I thought by raising my bid, there's a better change that the owner would decline to match my offer. I really needed to get a solid OG and have lost out on several in UFA/RFA. I know it sounded kinda stupid, but I hope you understand my thought process??

Another benifit I have seen to raising your own bid is that you can lower the cap value for a guy by adding a year. Things change between the time you bid and the time it locks. Sometimes you think your fine with what you bid, but then realize you would rather sacrifice the extra year in order to save some salary. Little thing, but can have a big impact.

I understand both explainations and I appreciate the replies fellas. The 2nd one is one I'm not sure if I would've ever considered. Usually I'm just focused on just "getting" the player, not thinking longer term. The first one though is something that has crossed my mind, but I've always just left my bid as is.

Thanks again
