Scoring Change For Panthers' Defense

After a scoring change by the Elias Sports Bureau, the Panthers were credited with a fifth sack in last Sunday's win at Buffalo. DE Mike Rucker was credited with the sack on what was originally ruled a rush for minus-2 yards by Bills QB JP Losman.

This is actually quite interesting. I just read thatthe NFLtook a sack away from Nick Barnett. The reason I mention Barnett is that I started him and Rucker in my league 8 games last week. I went 1-0-1 last week and the difference in sack totals (-10 for Barnett and +12 for Rucker) should give me a 2 point win.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports after reviewing film of the Eagles game, the NFL took sacks away from Packers LB Nick Barnett and S Nick Collins and gave one to LB Brady Poppinga. Barnett's tackle of QB Mike McMahon in the first quarter and Collins' tackle of McMahon in the fourth quarter were not considered sacks because the league felt they were designed running plays. Poppinga was credited with a sack of RB Brian Westbrook because Westbrook was dropped behind the line of scrimmage on a halfback option play.
