I just cut RB Thompson Dal 0.550 for 3 yrs in efs777. The League Penalty History indicates that i was docked 10% of his salary for cutting him during week 14. From the Rule book shouldn't I have been docked 14/18 ths of his salary and not 100% of his salary?

I assume you meant 100%, not 10%. !00% is accurate, 18/18 regular season games have been played.

If this percentage is accurate (100%) then i cannot cut anyone from my active roster to gain cap room at all .....

True, that is why I sent out an EFS wide e-mail about 3-4 weeks ago warning owners of how the salary penalties work, owners always seem to get burned by this late in the year.

pls let me know where my assumptions are in error....

thanks

The 18 games is the regular season only.

Once week 13 is done you gain nothing by releasing a active player.

Since the contract is considered the players pay for the regular season once it's over then you gain no cap relief from cutting a player.

Looking at your penalty report from league 777 it shows that you are charged the whole value of .550 for this year. His salary was .550 for 3 years and you are charged a cap penalty of .550 for this year. Everything is as it should be.

When releasing a player after the EFS season has begun, the 50% of salary penalty only applies to the first half of the EFS season. If you have completed more then 50% of the games on the EFS schedule then you will need to use the following formula to determine your salary penalty.

Take the # of games played in the EFS season (17 games for 12-team leagues, 18 games for 16-team leagues) and divide that into the players salary. Take that number and multiply it by the # of games played in the EFS season and that will be your penalty for waiving a player. This calculation only applies once you have reached 9 games played in 12-team leagues and 10 games played in 16-team leagues.)

18/18 games have been played in L777, so the Salary penalty is 100%.

This calculation is to account for paying the player for games played. At this time, any player waived from the active roster falls into these calculations no matter how many weeks the player has actually been on the roster.

NOTE: The new EFS week begins the Monday before the weekly games are set to begin.

PS players do not apply and will always get the appropriate 25% current year salary penalty.
