I know some are anxious to get started, but after the last few years and after what Panthers did in dropping McNabb and quitting like a little girl just this past year , I do not want to see foster ownership and then the beginning of free agency, RFA, and the draft. It just doesn't work and we really need to work on upgrading the integrity of this league on an annual basis.

I disagree. I think cutting McNabb is a non issue, as to a foster owner. Plus there was nothing wrong with cutting McNabb with the salary he had, I would have done the same thing. I agree quitting is crappy and we had our share of people that quit, not just the Panthers, but I will not call them girls. RFA ends on 4/20/07.
I was a foster owner and then bought my team. Did a fair job of going from 4/13/332 to 11/6/386 and lost the superbowl by 3 points.

You've been in the league 2 seasons. I have been here for twice that long and fosters that we have had have done more damage than good. There have been a plethora of bad fosters that have just been here for FA, RFA, and the Draft and quit at the first sign of difficulty. Then another guy comes in, cuts everyone, etc. etc. I can wait until someone pays.
It is the same deal as the McNabb thing. Guy got frustrated that he stunk as an owner and dumped McNabb with no intentions of doing anything to help the team later on. Now that team has no premier QB and is for sale. Why else is it the last one for sale???? Cause it was run into the ground. That guy filtered off talent all year long. Especiallyt he players that were singed in RFA just this past off-season before he took over.. and Yeh he is a little girl for leaving without a word and cutting players...at least bow out with some dignity

Bow out with dignity? Are you kidding, quiting is quiting. Your tenure and history gets you an opinion and vote when that is required, both of which I respect. I have been around EFS for quite awhile and have been a foster owner and have been in leagues with foster owners and my experience is different than yours, therefore my opinion is different also. In my brief history in this league several owners have quit, one owner quit twice, although the first time was before I was in the league.
Whether you like it or not foster owners are something that will have to be tolerated in EFS. I would rather not, but this is suppose to be a year round league and if it takes a foster owner to get started, so be it. RFA is over 4/20, a bid and match, or not, takes about 7 days, more than one bid obviously takes longer. We now have about 5 weeks left before RFA ends.
Are you still trying to sell your team? If you do that qualifies as bowing out with dignity, but the rest are just quitters.

I am in no hurry to fill a league with the pathetic excuses I have seen in the past. Maybe there are magical leagues where the fosters are good and respectible owners, but it has been my experience in this league that they tend to come in and cause more substantial problems than the one they do solve. And while it may be true that there are regular owners who act in the same manner, i am more than willing to wait a few more months to get someone in who would be more permanent and have more to lose than to go the route of a foster owner at this early period of the year.

So we wait and forget RFA this year? I am not willing to wait a few more months.

I would like to point out that EFS has imposed new guidelines to those who foster teams. These new guidelines are made very clear to anyone looking to foster. I don't have the time now but I see if I can add a post detailing these guidelines.
Also, we currently have some very experienced EFS owners acting as fosters, and I feel they are doing an excellent job as teams are filling up rather quickly.

I don't see how we would have to forego free agency. As it would be just as easy to fill the league and then set a time period for it. But apparently we have decided to go the route of foster owners anyway.
And I would appreciate it if I could see the new policy. I had not heard of it and would be interested in reading it to see if it has any teeth. So if it would be possible to post it in this forum, that would be great as I usually do not have time to peruse all of the other forums, or wherever the posting would be.
I would suspect that this league will be much better off without the The Evil Empire owner and his buddy from the year before. So hopefully we will have a stronger league that is highly competitive with a good sense of gamesmanship.

I'll get to work on this over the weekend.
