How about increasing the salary cap each year once a league has been in existance for three years? Start with year #4.

Now that the NFL has exceeded our cap value in their CBA, EFS will be increasing the cap to compensate for the NFL's new number. Since our year begins before the NFL's new year (January vs. March) we will be 1 year behind the NFL on their cap.

For 2007 the cap has been increased to 102M. The NFL announced that their salary cap will be 109M in 2007 with a projected cap of 116M for 2008.

So for 2008 the EFS cap will be 109M and the 2009 projected cap for EFS will be 116M.

Boo!!!!!
As long as we do not raise the veteran minimum to that of the NFL which I beleive is about .75M, I am opposed to increasing the cap. Part of the philosophy of EFS was to create player movement. The RFA rules and the ever increasing cap squeeze caused some of that to happen.

Oh well, Just makes it easier for me to afford some of my players I overpaid for.

We're working on a way to increase the average salary for players based on performance. We are setting up a raise system that would be similar to how we calculate salaries for the veteran draft. That way, when players are up for contract they will get paid fair market value. Along with that, the fair market value set for each player can be used as a basis for setting a new minimum salary for his services if he were to be in the UFA pool. When these rules are finalized, then the raising of the cap will be less of an impact.

the fair market value set for each player

By definition, fair market value is the dollar amount each player can get in a fair market (which we'll presume we have via UFA bidding). Setting the price by a formula removes the market part of the equation. If you are going to raise the cap, the way to keep player salaries in line with that is to raise the minimum salary and rookie salaries a commensurate amount each season you raise the cap.
