The matchups to watch this week:

Marauders 5 @ Army Of Darkness.

It's the best divisional-last-place team versus the team that beat out Lost and Found for the division title, only to lose in post-season. Both teams are top 10 ranked with good shots at the playoffs this season even though Army plays in a stronger division.

ZFactor @ The Omen.

Currently ranked #2 and #6 respectively by me, these two powerhouses ranked #1 & #6 in total fantasy points last season and have mostly stayed the course in the offseason. This game is more important for zfactor in that he faces heavier competition from the legend this season.

Lost and Found...some Help @ Rooting Rebels.

This is the #1 game of the week -- a superbowl rematch of last year's Superbowl winner, lost and found versus this year's #1 ranked team. This game, like the one above, has playoff tiebreaker written all over it. The only thing for Stan & Jason to prove this year is to win their division (on their way to another title). This game would go a long way toward that goal.

elysian fields the team to beat? he can easily go over 500pts tonite.

[EDIT: of course, i picked him to finish last, so he'll probably win this year's superbowl. :) ]

headline:

well, elysian fields, ranked #16 by someone stupid, is currently the only 500 team atop league 666.

featured games:

army of darkness won a close game against marauders 5, both teams to reckon with this year.

zfactor continues his dominance with a solid win over the omen.

rooting rebels avenges last year's superbowl loss to set the defending champ back 0-1.

only week 1 & might mean sh|t by the time our regular season's over!

Congrats to Rooting Rebels.

Tough week 1 matchup. We also had the subplot of trading Larry Fitzgerald in the offseason to RR for Deion Branch and Kyle Orton (along with some other considerations). Our defense underachieved but some will argue that Fitz was the difference in this matchup.

411pts was the 9th best score in week 1 so the math says we didn't deserve to win this week.

Hopefully we will be able to avenge our loss in the playoffs where the sting will be far greater!

While I'm happy with my week 1 victory I expect to get thumped by EF. I think Vegas has me as a 125 pt dog.
