According to the rule book, chapter 17 - Contract Extensions
"NOTE: IF you do not have enough available contracts from your contract cap to offer the extension, EFS will not allow the player’s contract to be extended." (page 86)
However, it seems that this is not the case, it seems like teams can go over the contract cap as much as they would like. I assume that this makes their rosters invalid.
Which brings me to point #2, a search of the rulebook for "valid roster" has a few locations where it lists things that you cannot do with an invalid roster. I think the rulebook would benefit from a more concise list of "this is what you can do with an invalid roster" (extend contracts, for example) and "this is what you cannot do with an invalid roster" (set starters)
The rulebook also still states that practice squads consist of 5 players, I believe it is now eight.
