Invalid Rosters

Hi-

Now that the closing process has taken place my teams as shown below are showing as Invalid :( but I can't figure out why :?.

Team 16 in league 10

Team 13 in league 63

Team 01 in league 67

Team 10 in league 16

Can someone please help me outand let me know what is wrong? Thanks

Those leagues most likely have an orphan or two in them.

That's true but so does the 2 other leagues that I'm in and my rosters in those leagues show as valid.

Why the difference?

Try to sign a UFA in one of those "valid roster" unfilled leagues -- you should be blocked.

Stan/Tom, it's probably the difference in some owner status code -- do i need to show a red email addr on the league info page for one+ of the new 3 codes (H/P/C)?

You are correct. UFA's are inactive in the leagues where my rosters appear to be valid.

So, just to make sure I understand, whenever a league has some orphaned teams (at the start of the year) all teams rosters in the league will show as "Invalid" until those orphaned are purchased??

Mike:

You understood correctly. Until the league is filled, your roster will be either invalid or act as invalid (even if it says "Valid"). The league must fill before you can interact with UFA, trading, RFA, etc.
You can still "find players", see rosters, etc. but no interaction.

Thanks to you also FantasyGM.The reason I persisted in my questioning is because I waswondering why the two teams showed as Valid even though there were orphans in those leagues. Based on all the responses it appears that its a coding issue and the "norm" is that they would say "Invalid" until the leagues are filled.

Yeah, 260+ orphan teams will really put a lot of leagues on hold. Looks like this may take awhile. Best of luck filling your leagues!

There probably isn't 260+ orphan teams. The code that is supposed to force owners out-of-the-playoffs to renew before the end of the calendar year didn't work to close out 2005. So a lot of teams/owners that would've been forced to renew already might've just been lazy until now.

For now, such owners that actually plan on renewing but haven't are just inconveniencing the rest of their league.
