2006 Baseball - Will it happen or not?

Gentlemen,

I could not find another place appropriate to put this so I'm putting it here. Will there be a Beta Baseball League this year? I know we skipped last year but since then I have not heard or read anything in regards to this. Would someone please post some info?

I'm not sure. What I do know is that Stan is very interested to get this up and going. Whether it happens this year or not is up to Stan to answer.

Im not sure either, we were very close 2 years ago when we lost the main design guy Trent C. Most of the scoring code is already done. Rockey would need to add further, since the roster interface is what is mainly missing just to get started.

Thanks sid for the reply. Baseball is a HOT topic right now as spring training is right around the corner. I can tell you this, there are a number of us interested in a dynasty style fantasy baseball league. Scouring the Internet you do not see very many dynasty style leagues, at least I can not find any. IF you ever decide to concentrate on this a nice feature to have would be a small 6-10 minor league roster as well. It adds a lot to your thinking.

Anyhow...keep us posted on this.

under the Old Forums we had a quite exhaustive list of about 16 folks, or maybe more, who expressed an interesting in either continuing from the beta league we had going or joining an expanded league.

i would be willing to help anyway that i could....

i hope this happens too. unfortunately, we/i haven't finished converting football all off of the old (dtx) architecture. there's about 14-ish pages left, but it was slow-going-ish as it was -before- my wife approached the part of pregnancy involving delivery. (= any day now)

so i squeeze in page conversion and other improvements (i hope to have a new "simple view" page soon including a team's draft picks) when i have time. i really wanted to have all these things done by february to focus on baseball after delivery, but that was an unrealistic goal.

so baseball -might- happen in 2007, but probably not 2006, as far as my p.o.v. sorry, man. i want this up as much as you (if only to defend my 2-time championship). :)

Same here...good luck with the new baby. Babies are GREAT! And you can groom them to be great fantasy owners as well. :)

Anything we can do to help we will. To be honest I have scoured the Internet looking for a decent dynasty/retention baseball site and have come up empty. So even if it is 2007 you will definitely have lots of interest.

We are 75%+ on the way, Rockey has to get into this because Trent and I have about 90% of the background stuff done. We will be helping Rockey as soon as we can. My best guess is we run Beta in 2007, but no promises.
