Since when is 7 DB x 3 DL x 1 LB a valid defensive starting line-up for standard scoring leagues? (and for that matter, 6 DB x 3 DL x 2 LB)
My opponent is starting this for his playoff line-up.
Thx-

This shouldn't be allowed. The max DBs should be 5. Do you know if he started this lineup or if the system set it? What league?

Lg39, he is team 08. He is a credible owner in many EFS leagues, so I assume he set the line-ups.
For random examples, he also had 6 DB x 3 DL x 2 LB starting for weeks 6 & 10 (weeks where he put up huge pts and won each week)

Check transaction history. Did the system set starters for his team the last time this happened? The other two times?

Neither time were the "starters set by system"...
I got a hold of Bryon Brand (opponent in question) and he had stated he's been setting this line-up for years as per an older rulebook.
The last rulebook I printed out was dated 2003... had the 7 DB option shown. But since we can't access a new rulebook on EFS (eh-hem) I cannot say for sure when the 5 DB max line-up came into play. I know it did tho (2007 at least maybe).

I've been doing this on and off for years. To be honest, I don't remember the rule change. I consulted the only rule book that is available and states the 7-1-3 format is valid
I'm in ten leagues, I'm quite sure I'm not the only owner in the past few years that have used this lineup.
If the system allows this lineup and the only rule book available states the lineup is valid, what to do?

I'm going to continue to set my lineup with 6-7 DBs until someone shows me the rule change in an updated set of rules or until the system disallows this from happening.

well, if the system allows this and the only available rules say this is a good lineup, then consider it okay. i thought EFS changed the max DBs to 5, but i'm obviously wrong.
I tried to set lineup with more than 5 DBs a couple of years ago - didn't work. I asked EFS about it and was told the rules had changed, I tried again after reading these posts - cannot do it. Can some plz tell me exactly how to do it by showing breakdown of positions(like 3DBs, 4S, 2DEs, 2OBs).
Thanks
Rockey -- The 2004 rule book does state the maximum # of DBs is 5 and the max WRs is 3. I think this issue is only appearing in standard scoring leagues so you may check the logic to see if there is a loophole there for that type of league.

This issue is in regards to basic scoring.
In the rule book: Basic says 7 dbs. Enhanced says 6 dbs.

our updated 2004 and 2008 Rulebook does limit the max levels to those Jason indicated in his post
