Saw other leagues doing this. Thought it might be fun. Don't be offended. Just putting this out there.
Post-draft/free agency power rankings:
1. Swamp Dwellers A-
- Major strength: An unprecedented four positions get A+ grades, including DEs, OTs, QBs and WRs
- Major weakness: Almost none, but his cornerbacks, which are below average, would get a B- grade from me.
2. Crazy Canucks B+
- Major strength: No A+ grades, but three positions earn As - safeties (Wilson, Sharper), DEs (Kampman leads way), and DTs (Both Minnesota Williams)
- Major weakness: Good depth all around because weakest spots still earn Bs - his ILBs, OTs and QBs.
3. Raven Maniacs B+
- Major strength: A+ at safety with Rhodes, Wilson, Landry and Williams.
- Major weakness: Receivers are aging with Horn and Glenn as starters.
4. The Menaces B+
- Major strength: Running back - Steven Jackson with Dunn or Norwood waiting in wings
- Major weakness: Kicker Jeff Reed needs to rebound
5. Reading Redskins B+
- Major strength: Earns A grades at CB (Woodson, Robinson and incredible depth), C (Jeff Faine, Dan Koppen), OT (Glenn, Jones or Barron) and at P with Brian Moorman.
- Major weakness: Inside linebacker - Andra Davis is his only starter. C- here.
6. Lugheads B
- Major strength: Inside linebacker. Traded for Brian Urlacher. A-
- Major weakness: Center (Only one on roster - Raiola) and not enough players to fill an active roster.
7. Arctic Invaders B
- Major strength: Earns three As - CBs (Mathis, McGee and tons of depth), guards (Evans, Nesbit and Naeole) and OTs (Olivea and lots of depth).
- Major weakness: Receiver. Drafted Jarrett and Meacham, but still doesn't have any elite starters. B-
8. Muckers B
- Major strength: Gets an A+ at CB, where he has Champ Bailey and Asante Samuel. Assuming Samuel plays somewhere this year.
- Major weakness: Gets a C- when looking at his FBs and TEs (which I combined into one position for ranking purposes). Pope is best TE.
9. Black Attack B
- Major strength: Outside linebackers with Edwards, Thomas and Spikes get an A
- Major weakness: Either QB or C, which both earn Cs. Losman or Delhomme, who could soon be riding pine. And just average McClare at center.
10. Grey Riders B
- Major strength: Receivers - Terrell Owens, Javon Walker and Greg Jennings. That group's Grade A.
- Major weakness: Outside linebacker position earns a putrid D+. McGinest, on the decline, is only one on roster.
11. Sack Exchange B
- Major strength: Gets an A+ at RB with Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook. Tops in this league.
- Major weakness: Earns three Cs - at center Mawae is only one on active roster; best guard is Manwai, who is average on an above average offence; top receivers are Booker, Cotchery and Williamson.
12. Golden Smactalkers B-
- Major strength: Quarterback. Drafting Quinn to backup Leinart gives him two of the best young arms in the league. A.
- Major weakness: FB/TE. No fullbacks. Tight ends are Daniels or Troupe. C-.
13. Aquablues B-
- Major strength: Gets an A+ at center where he has Saturday and Hardwick. Tops in this league.
- Major weakness: OTs get an unprecedented F. Has none on active roster. Will have to play someone out of position.
14. Creekside Indians B-
- Major strength: Safeties include Phillips, Williams and lots of depth. Grade A no matter who plays.
- Major weakness: DT. Only one on roster and Mike Myers is a backup. Hell of an actor though.
15. Tijuana Chongos B-
- Major strength: No As, but earns an A- at DT where he has one of the best - Jamal Williams.
- Major weakness: FB/TE. Very little prospect of something here. Grade F.
16. Jokers B-
- Major strength: Gets two As - at running back with Gore and Williams; and at DT with Sapp, Kelly and Patterson.
- Major weakness: Gets two D+ grades and they are at key positions - QB (Has to hope and pray that Garcia starts); and WR (Galloway is his best option and he's over the hill).
Feel free to post your own power rankings. I'd love to see how closely they match these ones.
Overall synopsis isn't good if you're not on the Swamp dwellers, though!
