a team played a playoff game when over salary cap and won is this allowed?

I'm in league 58 #509 team 06 and I noticed that one team that made the playoffs was allowed to play the 1st week of the playoffs with a salary cap that was over the limit. He won, is this legal? Now he is playing me and he is probally going to beat me. This morning he got rid of a player to get him under the cap. I was wondering if this acceptable. This player is legend team# 10.

Thanks Sorry he actually dropped the player to get under the cap on the 18th but that was still after the 1st round of playoffs.

As long as his lineup was set prior being over the cap then he's legal. Most likely he was legal, set a lineup then some players got healthy but he opted not to make any changes from his original lineup.
