OK, I have some questions about how this new salary structure affects RFA bidding. I think some may have been answered in other posts(?) but I'm not sure so I'll ask any way.

1. If I keep one of my RFA players who was not bid on, do I keep him at his current salary or at the Performance Salary if I don't extend beyond 1 year, just match?

2. If my RFA player is bid on and the bid exceeds my player's current salary (which is low), but the total contract bid is lower than the current Performance salary, do I use the bid salary or the Performance salary when determining the "higher salary" if I want to keep?

3. On that same concept, if I bid on another team's RFA player, should I consider the player's current salary or the Performance salary for the current owner to match? I know this is my strategy choice, but I want to know what salary the current owner has to look at when considering whether to match.

4. Does the Performance Salary have any impact on what I am required to bid in RFA?

Easy answer: RFA works in 2010 the way it worked in 2009. That's it.

Once the RFA guy is out of RFA and on your roster with a contract > 0, THEN the performance-based salary comes into play if you want to further extend theh player.

Now, a more nuanced answer would be: Eventually, people playing EFS are going to take the performance-based salary into account when bidding / matching in RFA. But what yalls stategery will be in them regards, i don't know. (I'm still trying to figure out what mine will be.)
