EFS, please help us decide if this trade should be vetoed or not.

Note: Team A has a foster owner controlling it.

Team A gives: Aaron Rodgers

Team B gives: Joe Flacco and Vincent Jackson

Thanks for help!

I would have zero problems with this trade if it were not a foster owner. The fostered team is based on Aaron Rogers, he is basically the only appealing player on this team if someone were to want to buy it.

As of right now, I have not voted because I have not decided if I think this trade it harmful to the league. A trade that harms a team is not a reason to veto a trade obviously.

If you don't mind an outside opinion I'd like to give you one. Being a long time EFS owner I've seen plenty of lopsided trades. In this case like the trade, for the guy getting Flaco and Jackson. If this team needs a quality WR then he will be getting a decent, if not up and coming QB and a 16+ PPG WR. Sure Rodgers is good BUT...if you can add quality at two positions then I say make the trade, especially if the team isn't going anywhere. IMO this makes it a more attractive orphan team to purchase because I now have decent quality at two positions rather than banking everything on one player. But yes, what a foster owner does is/should be a little different than what a regular owner does. But in this case my opionion is that it is a decent trade and one that should definitely get a YES vote.

Hope I didn't step on toes. It's not like he was trading Rodgers for Michael Vick and Bernard Berrian.

Good luck!

Bill

Hey Bill, I guess the better question would be if you were fostering this team, would you make that trade. I agree with Wolverines about if the team wasn't foster I would have voted yes. But lets face it the team is going to struggle for the immediate future and by this trade it will struggle even longer.Me personally, I would have to be blown away to trade the top scoring QB for a decent WR and a middle of the pack QB. Rodgers should bring so much more in return. Denny

EFS isn't in the business of telling leagues what is fair and equitable before trades run their course within the league. That is for each league to decide. I do have a couple of observations.

Aaron Rodgers was the #1 scoring player in all of EFS in 2009

Joe Flacco #14 QB and Vincent Jackson #11 WR are both #1 starters at their positions based on their position rankings.

The average point differential between Rodgers 42.43 and Flacco/Jackson 43.24 is
81 in favor of Flacco/Jackson

QB and WR are two of the hardest positions to fill in EFS.

Regardless of whether or not you feel this is an equitable trade the real issue here is does this make the roster of the foster owner better, worse or indifferent. If it is too hard to tell then maybe the trade isn't that bad after all.

Really? this team I'm fostering had the #1 QB, TE, and the #2 DB, and only won 4 games. Now the top teams usually have a good LB core, a good QB and RB with a solid Line and good WR's. Thats where a majority of your points come from.

Now When I took the team over they only had a QB. Now no one was Aaron Rodgers last year, not Brady, Peyton or Brees. Now By letting this trade go I still get a QB who almost put up 30 pts and prob. will now with the addition of Bolden. I also get a solid WR. I've already agreed with other owners for 2 future trades that will allow me to get 2 more good receivers (can't mention names it would affect RFA) a potentially high RB in Shaun Green, a good RB in Pierre Thomas and another solid TE in Kevin Boss. I also took my 1st rounder and traded for a top ILB to round out my LB core. If all goes well in UFA I've filled a good portion of the line issues and improved special teams dramatically while strengthening my secondary. So really there is no reason not to let this happen. I did what I was suppose to make the team stronger in as many areas as possible to make it competitive and buyable.

Now When I took this team over 8 positions had little to now talent CB, DE, ILB, C, RB, WR, XP and XK. I will have improved on all those areas except C so far. So don't tell me I'm disecting a team. Yeah I might trade the top scores for 2 or 3 guys who are ranked between 10-15 in there positions but this team didn't have SHIT till I fostered it and started making deals.

*****Oh yeah by the way one of those future trades includes Dallas Clark so do the right thing accept the trade and make the moves you'll need to beat this team next year, cause I'm not even close to being done.
*****And FYI what kind of shaddy league is this? you say you would approve the trade if I wasn't a foster owner but the actual owner. That is the biggest bunch of bull I've ever heard. Jason I know you said EFS isn't in the business of telling leagues what trades are what, but the point factor is in my team's favor and I'm filling my WR need (cause I don't have any) and my QB (cause I create a void by trading Rodgers, which Flacco fills) Personally I think I'm dong a good job with this team. Once my other 2 trades go through when RFA player bid locks, you will see a huge turnover in this roster for the better.

I am in league 35 and some have compared this trade with what I gave up to get Drew Brees.....I gave up quite a few picks...I didn't really have the players to trade for Brees and I know this will sound geeky....but Brees is my favorite player as well.....Brees did upgrade my team for quite a few years barring injury...and with other moves I am making and intend to make the trade made sense for me...NOW...the trade at hand...I tend to not agree that it should not go through....I wanted to hear all the reasons for voting No...but I really don't have a problem with this trade....I would have personally demanded more for Rodgers maybe a couple picks along with the players involved...especially considering the precedent set by the trade I completed for Brees....but...I can't see where this hurts the league. I think Flacco's value goes up even more having Boldin...plus according to all the "experts" Vincent Jackson is supposed to be the next big thing. Just my two cents take it or leave it!

Thanks Jason.

The trade currently has 4 No votes and 1 Yes vote on it. It has been hung up that way for a few days now. If trade continues to get vetoed, we will re-post here for a decision.

Jason,

Owners no longer can vote on trade. The "Submit" button is gone when you try to submit yes or no. Can you please assist?

Its hung with 4 No and 1 Yes.

Based on the above statement I assume the Rodgers team doesn't have a 3rd WR with any points otherwise his points would be added to Rodgers to get a fairer comparison.
