Practice Squad bidding and contracts

For some reason, I cannot seem to get the rulebook to open. Must be having problems with my adobe or whatever. Anyway, can someone answer this quick question, as I havn't come accross this until now.

If someone bids on one of my practice squad players and I decide to retain him or let him go, will he still maintain a "Rookie Contract"? Or, since he was P/S bid on, will he be subject to salary increases after season 1?

Rookie contract status goes away with any extension or raise. Thus, his rookie status will be removed whether you keep him or let him go subject to salary increases starting at the turn of the new year.
