In 2006 around this point, there were basically 7 teams vying for 6 spots with You Gotta Love It the odd man out. There were other teams close, but not with a realistic shot.
In 2007, i think 11 teams have a realistic shot at the playoffs. Of those 11, here are the top matchups, two are repeats from week 7:
W.S.D.M. @ Legend
I think Z is going to run away with the division again, which leaves these two teams to battle for a wildcard spot. W.S.D.M. is without Justin Tuck while Legend goes without Sam Madison, Gibril Wilson, James Hall, Leonard Little, Shaun o'hara and Jeremy Shockey.
Soggy Bottom Boys @ The Omen
Assuming Thunderwolves wins, this is to keep pace for the lead, more important to the Omen, who would drop to a 1-3 division record with a loss. Soggy misses Fakhir Brown and Seubert while Omen is short at safety and without Steven Jackson.
Liberty Vultures @ ^mephistopheles rebellion 666^
Winner takes the division lead going into a stretch run with similar upcoming OPP PPG schedules. Liberty's misses Tommie Harris, possibly all his ILBs, Isaac Bruce & Plaxico. Mephisto goes without Carlos Rogers, Pisa Tinoisamoa, Kareem Mckenzie and CHI TEs.
