New league

[Spartans]

I'm guessing we are trying to do a full 32 team league finally.

Two questions:

1. Is this free this year? If so sweet, if not when do we pay when we have all 32 teams?

2. When is the draft when all 32 teams sign up?

If the commish could post here and give us an update I would greatly appreciate.

Next seems to be rock... only seeing 16 teams, use lconf*ldiv*ldivcnt to get the total number of teams now for the standings page. We had lconf for long time but were not using. lconf=# of conferences

Onward... After rock gets to take a look at this cosmetic issue, I want to start a "FAKE DRAFT", I don't care who you dreaft, George Blanda is fine! I want to run thru 34 picks to make sure the draft program will work correctly for 32 then clear them and then yall can set a draft date. BUT, I want the fake draft to start in a week or 2 if yall really want to try this. enthusiasm required!"

Any idea when we will do the draft? I'm guessing around April or May.

Will we get at least a months notice so we have time to prepare.

I have a feeling if one of the teams have a shitty draft then their team will be screwed for a long time.

i assume we'll be drafting ASAP. first, a test draft in january, then the real draft right after. Not april or may but more like february. (We have 41*32 picks on a 1440 to draft! then a 7*32 rook draft after.)

I'm not as certain of this. A great draft vs a sh|te draft won't be as significant of a difference with talent spread so thin. i think if an owner has a sh|te draft, they should be able to turn it around quicker than a 16 team league (if they don't entirely deplete their picks).

it'll be fun to see how this plays out.

But what really determines a sh#t draft? Your gut feeling during/after the draft? Injuries this summer/year 1? Poor money management? Or overall poor performance by your team in year 1, 2, etc.??

My fear is that if some owners do experience a lack of initial success, they'll bail out on this league prematurely. I can't imagine the "screening" process for owners in this league was ever implemented, but I do assume we have some of EFS's most vested owners on board. However, we should devise some type of league-wide safeguard (a competition commitee, commissioner, players union perhaps) that can monitor league activity.

Given the size of this league, I think this is a really good idea.

Why? It's a free league with no prize, so no big deal.

We don't worry about the paying leagues ,the prize leagues or even the free ones with prizes (3001, etc.)so why worry about a free one with no prize.

Sorry if I'm being ignorant.........but what do you mean 1440 to draft?

1440= 60 mins X 24 hours= 1440 mins

just means 24 hour time clock between picks

Good, I was hoping it was going to be 24 hours. Next question, how are we going to determine draft order? Is it just going to go by team 1-32 or are we going to attempt a lottery?

i recall that Sid indicated he would do a random number generator which will scramble everyone from where they are now undoubtedly.....my guess is this will happen early in 2008 but Sid will let us know...
