i'm coming with an "Admin homepage" accessible using any CID via the supersecret login/password. That home page will give us the ability to do things we would otherwise only be able to do via "a greenscreen". Right now i'm thinking FFPPLYR-level functions such as updating NFL injury status (for players that are marked as "O"ut), change-of-position (EFS & NFL), change-of-team, etc.

Now some of this stuff might be overridden by a quickstats update. We need to figure out how to keep that from happening. (Maybe a player update can trigger an email to qssguy?)

Let me know what you think. i just have a start on this -- hoping to be done in a month. (abnormally long time because of the holidaze.)

I like the idea.

I have no problem with that, but you might want to wait until 6.1 comes out and we have more iron. Just a thought.

The new release of i5/OS is a BIG deal. But your call.

Stan,

This is not about horsepower. It's about making it easier on us non-green-screen-types to make data changes. (But you're welcome to take advantage of this too.)

For example, my first link covers player changes like a player changing positions, teams or nfl injury status.

But this page can help YOU too. Imagine a web link you can access to re-run points for a given week. If you hook up the DB2 program that does the points to JNI, i can make an easy call and any one of us can do it if need be. This is just an example -- not sure how realistic it is for you.

Anyway, the admin home page exists with one link ("modify player") but that link goes nowhere right now. i have to complete it.

Another example is "Modify NFL schedule". This would allow us to perform the nfl network "sunday swaps" that begin in november since these game time changes are known 2 weeks in advance.

I agree with you, really like to see the nfl schedule thing. In addition, I will look at a jni to rerun points, problem there is if you rerun week 2 in week 4 you must do 3 & 4 also. I'm sure I could automate that, today it is not. It also might make it easier someday to maybe sell the system if there was little/no command line stuff needed.

another function = transfer of ownership of a team from one CID to another

Modify Player is done. Have a look sometime.

Access "Modify Player" through the ADMIN quick link which appears when you login via the zupersecret password.

Next, to aid in re-assigning teams (most likely for foster/orphan purposes), i'm going to work on the admin page to modify FFPOWNR, fields CID, ownerstat and paidthru (for "transferring credits").
