First, some story-lines regarding this year's playoff teams.

* This is Thunderwolves first time making the playoffs. Congrats. He did so by wresting Division 1 away from the defending champ.

* Two new faces made this year's playoffs from last year -- Thunderwolves and Lost and Found...some Help . They take Marauders 666 and Legend's place.

* Two former champs made the playoffs -- Lost and Found...some Help (2004) and The Omen (2006).

* Four of the six playoff teams have made it to the Superbowl in a previous year. No team has made it to the Superbowl twice. [jinx]

* Three of the four division winners, ^mephisto^, Lost and Found and ZDevil, won their divisions as they did in 2004.

* ZDevil and ^mephisto^ are seeded the same as they were in 2004. (Lost and Found was seed #3 in 2004.)

* ZDevil has been a top 2 seed EVERY SINGLE SEASON going into the playoffs. He has ALWAYS had an opening week bye. Despite his great teams, closing last year with a 14 game winning streak for example, he has NEVER made it to the Superbowl. [anti-jinx]

* Z has easily won the PPG prize with 482PPG, his second time. (Right? This one i'm a bit hazy on. i think it was Z, then Marauders then Liberty.)

* Four of the six playoff teams ended the season within 5PPG of each other.

Ok, now let's hit the wildcard matchups:

The Omen @ Lost and Found...some Help

Lost and Found comes in with a 423 AVG PPG, Omen 435. Both had mild scares this year. The Omen found himself on the outside of his own division looking up at TWO teams, also on the outside of the playoff race about mid-season. Lost and Found lost 3-in-a-row while Marauders won 3-in-a-row before Lost finally won a couple topping 500pts in week 12. These two teams met in week 6, Lost and Found winning 430-375.

Lost and Found comes into the playoffs relatively healthy, but with question marks as to who to start at QB, RB & WR, along with playing a guessing game at who to start at OL. He made a bunch of last-minute trades which finally helped him in week 12. But he slumped again in week 13 and goes in as the underdog.

The Omen was able to put it together beginning week 8 and only lost to Soggy Bottom Boys and ^mephisto^ there-on. The Omen misses a couple parts but nothing he hasn't been without since at least mid-season except for Roy Williams who is probably out for the efs playoffs. He also has to hope Steven Jackson can remain active enough to put up some good points and hope Ryan Diem can return soon.

Liberty Vultures @ Thunderwolves

This one's about as even-up as a game to call -- 439-to-439 for the game if you add HFA to Thunderwolves's season AVG PPG. The Thunderwolves led Division 1 around mid-season and hasn't looked back rocking out great scores until week 13. Liberty led Division 2 about 2/3's of the way through with a win over ^mephisto^ but then stumbled a bit to fall out of division contention. These two teams met in week 10, Thunderwolves winning 475-376.

Thunderwolves started off 0-2, losing to Legend and ZDevil, then built up some wins before his long roll to 13-5. He's the darling of the 2007 playoffs riding strong safety and LB play, brett favre & T.O, but after T.O. he doesn't have much consistency at receiver and Marion 3 hasn't been as productive of late. i also worry about his CB & Safety depth. He made no last minute trades to bolster his team.

Liberty Vultures finished 11-7 after winning the division last year. After beating ^mephisto^ in week 9 by 5 points (thank you Khalif) and controlling his own destiny, he's gone 2-4, losing to Lost and Found, The Omen and Thunderwolves along the way. He came out of a scoring slump in week 12 with 502 points. He made two last-minute trades for Paris Lenon and Joseph Addai. He just lost Eric Green, Adrian Wilson and Anquan Boldin (all cardinals??) and has to wonder what he'll see out of hobbled Plexi, Braylon and an inconsistent Carson Palmer.

Good and bad. It's good I made it through the first round and into the final 4, but now I must face Brady vs the jets.

i'd feel much worse for Liberty.

IDK. I figured out that you would have scored 546 pts this week. I think Z is due for a downweek. HE has scored 435+ points every week since week 1. That is just incredible.

Results:

The Omen @ Lost and Found...some Help

The difference in this game was on defense as Omen won 493-438 on defensive tackles while Lost and Found was let down by the majority of their DL & LB players.

Liberty Vultures @ Thunderwolves

Tackles again marked the difference between a win & loss as Liberty won 451-391 (with a 72 pt diff in tackles). It didn't help Thunderwolves's cause starting an inactive chowderhead.
