If I remember correctly, the team with the 3rd most points takes home like 75% or something... ;-)

Honestly, I can't remember how many guys contributed to give the actual payouts, so I'll let RFLers give you the numbers...but the payouts are to 1st and 2nd for playoff results and 1st and 2nd to total points for the year....

Guys,

Per an email thread from late Oct, we had 13 owners that entered the prize pool. Based on that, the payouts would be:

> 1) $550 for 1st place regular season
>
> 2) $100 for 2nd place regular season
>
> 3) $550 for EFS bowl winner
>
> 4) $100 for EFS bowl runner-up
>
> 5) Free entry into '06 Fantasy Jungle for EFS bowl winner

However, after I sent the email two more owners said they were going to pay
the fee and join. I'm checking wiht FJMike to see if that happened. If so,
it'll increase the payouts slightly.

I think next season the weeks with 2 games should only be counted as 1 game. 13 scores not 18 scores.

This is extreme but... You could get lucky and havefive 475 point games during those weeks with two games. Someone else might have five 500 point games but they happen to fall on single week games. For argument sake all other scores were idientical. In the end the team with the 500 point games really had the most points but because ofbeing unlucky scoring big on single game weeks he was not awarded the prize.

See attached example

Ithink you have a good idea AJ. I post my findings when I figure out how to add the file. I keep getting file extension not valid. I removed all the B weeks in the double weeks. Obviously we still have the monday night game to calculate.

Honestly guys, I understand your point of view, but I actually like the 2x weeks...

I think it makes the race more wide open and makes it interesting down the stretch. I mean if you throw up around 600 on a 2x week like we did last year, you can make up 400 points in a week which means that no one can just run away with the points race. Plus, it adds to the strategy in bidding/trading, etc. If you see a stud is off on an even week, you'd prefer someone else...

But, that's just my $.02.

It would actually effect our team negatively this year as we have a 143 pt lead going into tonight versus the 46 point lead in the data I collected, but thought it was something the league may want to consider for the future. It would only effect the total points race for weeks 1-13 and not have any bearing on the seeding of teams as that is a EFS coding issue.

Guys,

I traded emails with FJMike and it turns out we have a total of 14 owners who have sent in their checks for the prize pool (side action). The payouts will be:

1) $600 for 1st place regular season

2) $100 for 2nd place regular season

3) $600 for EFS bowl winner

4) $100 for EFS bowl runner-up

5) Free entry into '06 Fantasy Jungle for EFS bowl winner

Sure looks like the home team got the benefit of the extra $.

heh heh, Alvin, I get the feeling you're joking, but just in case you aren't, in an email FJMike sent to all of league 3006 on 10/26 at 10:42 p.m., he said:

If this is the case, then it will be $600 for first in points, and $600 for
whoever wins the EFS bowl.

This was in reference to having 14 owners in the side pool vs. 13.

But, just to show you I'm a good guy I'll ask FJMike to split the
extra $50 evenly between us since Shep and I will qualify for 1st
place in reg season points, and you'll qualify for 2nd (assuming
nothing changes in the points standings after tonight's game).

How about we ask FJmike to hold the extra $as a starter for next years pot. That'll give everyone a little extra incentive..just a thought. And yes,I was being a little tongue-in-cheek.;)

Put the $100 in the kitty for the EFS Super Bowl winner. Then the "home team" doesn't get any perceived advantage.

I think that FJMike already stated 600 to pts leader and 600 to EFSchamp, so we should probably stick to that for this year since there was no debate at the time that he stated that contingency.

It turns out that a 15th owner has sent in his check for the side action. That owner had previously said he was in, but hadn't sent the check. He's no longer alive in the playoffs, so there is nothing fishy going on here. As a result, the payoffs are now:

1) $600 for 1st place regular season

2) $150 for 2nd place regular season

3) $600 for EFS bowl winner

4) $150 for EFS bowl runner-up

5) Free entry into '06 Fantasy Jungle for EFS bowl winner

I don't know, someone gives their word that they're going to pay and then even though they are eliminated from any prize contention, they still pay the entry fee. That sounds fishy to me in this day and age. I've seen less integrity and more attempts to shirk one's responsibility in local fantasy leagues where everyone knows each other personally. It's good to see someone standing by their word......:D

Superpions, I couldn't agree more. I thought it was very cool that the owner who knew he was out of contention still sent in his payment. Stand up guy in my book

Bravo..mystery man. Now I just hope that you weren't the "mystery trade vetoer"..That would ruin my heroic image of thee!

I just read the last post about a "mystery veto-voter" and then scrolled down the list of topics and read the thread "who keeps vetoing trades"? That whole saga must have occured while I was having my computer log-in problems with EFS. Since I'm one of the two new guys in the league I suppose I could be a prime candidate? Sorry, you will have to direct your suspicions elsewhere, it was not me either. If I was to veto a trade, I would post my reasons why in the forum. Speaking of trades, when do the winter meetings begin?
