Interesting pickup...don't see too many guys picked up off the waiver wire any more. Also don't see too many #1's dropped 1 year later.

Shep and I couldn't believe no one put a waiver claim in on him. At 1.6M it seemed like a no-brainer to grab him. Luckily, we had some roster room for him.

Hard to part with $1.6 for a guy that'll probably sit for another year, and might end up the starter on a crappy team. Than again, there are worse things to have than a qb on a team thats constantly playing catchup and chucking the ball 50 times.

Yeah, I saw him on there...... but if he gets off the bench, who is he going to throw it to?Yourmama?!The pack is going down for the count. Its all over but the crying (Favre that is). I'm sick and tired of the refs blowing Bretty.A B SEE YA! :DBesides I already have a couple of top 10 QBs.

Never being one to look for controversy,I was just wondering Mtn. Man....which of your elite selection of qb's are you referring to?:P

You DO have two of Atlanta's top five, plus, I think Vick led the league in both STD's, and asshole siblings!!:D

Careful, T.O. and Lewis are back for '06...No defense for Vick's ability to pass the Herpes. Maybe the prevent?

This was similar to the trade we made for Reggie Williams a couple weeks ago in our mind. Very little risk with a high reward if the chips fall right. You can never have too many QB's that are starters or would be starters. We figure we can sit on Rogers for a year and see what Favre does.

As the team that beat me in the super bowl,I accord the rfl'ers much respect. But $4.1 mil for a qb who will probably sit at least 1 more year and a wr on a mediocre offensive team seems a bit more than no-risk.But,thats what makes this gig so much fun, isn't it? We all have opinions. And who amongst us can't have dozens of his moves picked apart? I've got plenty of open wounds myself...(see Trevor Pryce,Kevan Barlow..etc.)

Gordon, we claimed Rogers off the waiver for $1.6M. If he had been over $4M we would have passed.

The beauty is it really only costs us 1.647 million in my mind because we can take a look and see what happens. If Williams especially looks bad this year we cut him.Our cap hit for next year if we cut both players is 1.647. We have pleanty of cap space for this year and could afford to "take a look".

No,Greg, the $4 mil. I was talking about was rogers & Williams combined. Actually,I think Rogers at 1.6 is a better bargain than Williams at 2.4. Getting him at that price surprised me more than pickin up Rogers on waivers...Just reread the last replys...I mean Mike, not Greg. I understand everything you guys said, visa vi the caphit etc.,I guess I was just surprised in the potential upside that you saw for Williams.I'm just not a big Jaguar fan for fantasy. Now you know the guy will go out and have a Steve Smith year this year just cause I said that.

Well...now I just got to my other e-mails,and lo and behold...Rodgers and Williams available for 2nd rounders...Are you guys just messin with my head? I sure as heck know that they didn't just become available because of my posts.:)

We'd settle for Rod Smith numbers, but Steve would be fine too.

For some reason the two words Steve Smith get me kinda pissed.

this is kind of late(couldn't remember my log-in info, finally found it on an old gas station receipt!)but here goes - Since I picked up Tom Brady during the offseasonand I've already got a young QB with a lot of development ahead of him in Alex Smith, I didn't see any reason to hang onto Rodgers. It's not like I had much invested in him anyway. He came to the WWC along with E.James and a 2nd rounderwhen I unloaded A.Brooks, I didn't draft him. In addition to that, several mock drafts had the Packers looking at selecting one of the big 3 QBs with their first pick. That didn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling about how much confidence Green Bay has in Rodgers either. I felt my 1.6 millionx 2 (or was it 3?)seasons could be better utilized on someone else.
