Best - Round 1:
1.8 Matt Leinart QB ARI by the Rockers with Byron Leftwich as their only legitimate QB, this future star in Arizona falls to them.
1.14 Laurence Maroney RB NE by fRedskins68 made even better by the fact that C. Dillon is their starter.
Worst - Round 1:
1.12 Micahel Huff S DET by Raven Mad - the player is solid but too high for a safety in the Rookie Draft
Best - Round 2:
2.13 Kellen Clemons QB NYJ by Flag Pond Flash with A. Brooks as their starter and little else - he's a nice pick-up. This hurts because I really wanted him to be there for my 2.15 pick!
Worst - Round 2:
2.5 Haloti Ngata DT BAL by Irish Dogs - for a defensive tackle this is too high. Jury's still out on just how good this kid will be - I think it's a reach.
Best - Round 3:
3.6 Rocky McIntosh OLB WASH for Necromangers68 turns out to be a great value pick at this point and helps to bolster one of the best LB corps in our league for the Necromangers.
Worst - Round 3:
3.3 Deuce Lutui OG Arizona by Pornstars bolsters their soft offensive line but it's still too early. Alot of goodOL left on the board at this point and they could have gotten him much later.
Best - Round 4:
4.9 Antonio Cromartie CB SD by Icyhots with only two CB's on their roster, this was a no-brainer and he has the potential to become very good. Nice value at this point.
Worst - Round 4:
4.5 Stephen Gostkowski K NE by NRF Primetime - Yeah, I made the pick. Too early for a kicker who might be a long term starter but is still a reach in Round 4
Best - Round 5:
5.15 Bernard Pollard S KC by NRF Primetime - I redeemed myself with this pick. Pollard is a starter in the depleted KC secondary for a long time. I've already had two teams offer to trade for him.
Worst- Round 5:
5.10 Anthony Fasano TE DAL by WANAF Viking III although I am a huge ND fan and this is a need pick, I believe that this kid will disappoint in the NFL.
Best - Round 6:
6.11 Anthony Schlegel ILB NYJ by Irish Dogs - not sure how this player got to the end of Round 6 but he is terrific value at this point in the draft and may end up as a strater.
Worst - Round 6:
6.2 Travis Wilson WR CLEV by Venoms - I see very little playing time in the next several years; he is more of a UFA player than draftable.
6.5 Devin Hester S CHI by Irish Dogs - Why bother? Aspecial teams player at best for Chicago and while he might be explosive, he probably will never be more the a KO and punt return specialist.
Best - Round 7:
7.2 Jason Hatcher DE DAL by Martins Creek Goats I think this player can really surprise as a pass rush specialist on a good, young defense, He's got the upside your look for in Round 7.
Worst - Round 7:
7.1 Cedric Humes RB PIT by Necromangers68 - very little chance of making an impact ont his team and is probably a special teams player. Undrafted in most leagues - but hey, it's Round 7.
I'd like to hear what everyone elses thoughts are on the Best and the Worst of the '06 draft.
