I realize that if your player loses a fumble to the other team, it's a -6 for your scoring. What if your RB fumbles the ball and the WR on his own team recovers it? Is that still a -6 for your RB? Because it wouldn't actually be a lost fumble, I guess unless the same WR, who recovered it, actually gets +6 points for it.

Is all of this true then? RB fumbles but his WR team-mate recovers it. RB gets -6 points and said WR gets +6 points.

I don't think so.I don't think either player gets any points, plus or minus. That only happens with a fumble recovered by the opposing team.It can be confusing looking at the nfl.com game stats, because as the game is going on,if a player fumbles and a teammate recovers...it does show as a fumble lost. But,at close of game,or soon after,I believe that is changed and does not show a fumble.Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I hope you're right cuz in my scenario, it would suck pretty bad. I already don't like losing 6 points for a fumble. I think it's a bit excessive. I mean, 6 points for a TD seems like nothing when compared to a player who has a good yardage day. I hate to have fumbles equal the same amount of points, lost. I guess what I'm saying is. If a RB has a difficult game, let's say 20 rushes for 35 yards but he does score a TD and has a fumble lost. His points are virtualy nothing. Let's say you have another RB carry the ball just 5 times and runs for 100 yards and doesn't score or fumble. I havn't done the math but I beleive the 2nd guy's total score would be much better. Having that fumble equal the same (negatively) as the TD kills the total points for that player. I know a fumble should hurt a player, I'm not saying it shouldn't, I just think 6 is too much.

Anybody else feel the same about -6 points for a fumble lost vs 6 points for a TD score? Has this been discussed somewhere else and I missed it?

From an NFL perspective, losing a fumble (or any turnover for that matter) is disastrous in an NFL game and should be penalized as such in fantasy football as well. So despite the fact that losing points sucks, the minus 6pts for a lost fumble seems appropriate.

Tell your RB to hang onto the damn ball then.

from an EFS perspective, to be credited with a -6 for lost fumble the fumble must be lost to the opposing team. if a player on the same team recovers the fumble he is not credited with any points; likewise under that scenario the player who 'lost' the fumble is not debited for a 'lost' fumble either....
