L747 - The “High Fliers”
* 16 Teams
* Regular Scoring
* 41 Round Veteran Draft
* The team numbers, and thus the draft order, for the veteran & rookie drafts will be randomized.
* Commissioner; Tom Lorenz, ZFactor (L3, L19, L20, L24, L777)
* Co-commish; Mike Rochford, TheRockfordFiles, (L4, L30)
* Annual League fee will be $250, which WILL include the $60 EFS league cost per team.
* The 1st year dues will be $350; the extra $100 will be for a league deposit.
* The $100 fee/deposit helps the league bring in new owners if a current owner quits. This fee/deposit is returned to the owner after completion of their 5th season, or applied to lower the cost of an orphan if a team leaves before 5 years in the league, unless the team leaving helps find a new full paying owner.
* The $250 annual fee will be due by December 1st each year.
* If you have any questions or would like to provide some input, please call me at 320-203-8186, or e-mail me @ Thomas_Lorenz_66@yahoo.com.

Draft Type
We will definitely do 41 rounds using the 1440 system, but I will work with everyone’s schedules to set up 2-4 live draft night's of about 2-5 hours in length where I will move the clock from 1440 minutes to probably 10 minutes. After the live draft period, the clock will go back to 1440, I don't believe in less than 1440 when there is not a live draft period, because things come up, & someone may need the full 24 hours, all-though I hope it does not happen too often. It will be expected that everyone make the live draft times, or have a draft list and vacation flag on, if they don't, they will get auto-picked after the ten minutes is up, which is a good reason to have a draft list entered just in case. I have been involved in several Veteran Drafts done this way, including L777, and I will go out of my way to make sure no-one gets screwed during the draft process.
The live draft periods will be well coordinated with plenty of advanced notice. We have allot of time until the 2004 Football season begins, so we will do the Veteran draft properly. The live draft periods are a great way to get some league chatter and trading going on!
Reducing the likelihood of Orphans & finding new Owners
Most, if not all Prize Money League owners want some way to ensure that their won't be a exodus of owners, or even 1 or 2 orphans that will be hard to find new owners for. L747 Plan:
1) Scouting/looking for quality EFS veteran owners to fill the league.
2) $100 deposit will be a small way to find committed owners that will stay in the league long-term.
...A) By having to come up with the extra $100 at beginning, it shows some commitment.
...B) By the fact that if a team owner leaves early (before 5 years in the league), they lose their deposit and it goes towards filling the orphan, the orphan would only be charged $150 + $100 deposit for their 1st year. If we can fill the orphan with or without the leaving owners help at the full price, the leaving owner will get back their $100 deposit.
3) Have a waiting list of quality EFS Veterans to fill possible orphans quickly/smoothly.
Stan's idea for L666 is to come up with $1,000 up front or DOUBLE the annual league dues of $500, and always be paid up one year in advance. I think the $100 deposit is a little easier to swallow.
