View Full Version : Half the league members bailed and for good reason

Its not sursprising that half the league members moved on to greener gridiron's as the incompetence level of many of the team owners was down right pathetic. Some members did not manage at all, others attempted to do so with embarassing moves, and even one had no clue but copied the exact FA pickups to a tee for the entire season. There was almost no spirit, associations with other owners, or fun.
This league since 2005 has turned over more than half of all the owners that bought a team and this year its half again. Classic examples that made the competition compromised wre about a third of the league didnt bother to set lineups or they played guys who were hurt, benched or on byes. No matter how much talent I had on my team or how many games I won or # of points scored, it was tainted due to many owners not giving a crap.
I was ashamed of playing with so many wanabee owners and didnt get much out of it, win or lose. I can confirm some of the owners who moved on felt the same way. I regret my decision to be a part of it all and I wont make this mistake again.
New owners better know what their getting into.

Keith I think you will find that with this jackass gone this league could be turned around, his constant attacks and badgering other owners simply turned them away, I just bought this team as an orphan before the season and I considered not renewing simply because of this owner, I mean who wants to continue with a guy who tells at least three members of the league NEVER to contact him again simply because they weren't interested in a particular trade ? Then when a few of the owners started trading without him he started voting no to the trades ?
He is right, at least one owner was very inexperienced, that's because I just introduced him to EFS this year, it was his first experience outside of a TD only league, his first experience with starting individual defensive players, offensive line, etc etc etc, thanks to this guy his first experience was a horrible one, fortunately for the owner and EFS this did not turn him away, he will be back and in fact has bought another team in the league mentioned below.
I'm in another EFS league and it is the best fantasy football experience ever, all the owners talk a little smack, but all in good spirit, we give each other crap, but this guy just took it to far, I'll do some talking with them and some other people and see if I can help fill this league.

Very good insight, thank you! If we ever have a situation like this again where one person seems to be ruining the EFS experience, let me know. I'd rather transfer or loose one bad apple than have good owners creating multiple orphans. I want to try and get some EFS vets in here to help turn things around for a season. By then, the rosters and league should be attractive enough for purchase.

I just wanted to input my two cents. I have been in this league since the beginning. I have enjoyed this format greatly. I am not much of a trash talker, never have been, but I do enoy ready it, and will partake in the fun a little. I have found trading in this league to be hard at times. I realize that I was asking a lot for Addai but at the time it was a playoff race and people needed to decide how much they wanted to spend. I had some offers and was happy in the end with how it turned out. Some people latter mentioned they were willing to give more and next maybe I need to be more greedy.
I was unaware as to how bad the bickering was until about half through the season, much to my own fault. I don't pay enough attention to this chat line. I don't take most of what happens to seriously and try to play fairly within the rules. If I am attacked I retaliate appropriately but expect the same from my opponents and don't hold any grudges for it in the end. That is the great thing in how this league is set up. We fight for what we feel will help my our team a winner. Sometimes that means we get into bidding wars and try to run up our opponents salaries.
That is the nature of the beast, good or bad. Good luck to all and hopefully we can make our league better. You can count me in again. I love the format created and always try to play fair.
By the way I loved reading the preseason forcast and the updates that came occasionly detailing our league. I agreed totally that my team had to have been the most disappointing in the league this year. I just wish it wouldn't have made such a huge run in points come the last few weeks of the season.

I am a new owner and not too interested in reliving the problems of last year... I am simply looking forward to the 2008 season...jay (Lyin Eyes)
I'm sorry to read about the past troubles with the league and am unfortunately, just a caretaker until a buyer is found for Team 9. But you have my word that I will be as pleasant a Foster-Owner as you've ever met :D
That being said... let the games begin!!!
I'm looking forward to my experience in this League, however brief!
