Comments:
I think the North Division will be a 2 man race between BayDawgs and Eternal with the both making the playoffs. Raliegh could pull an upset here or there. Creeping Death needs to much help at this point.
The Central Division is going to be tough. $$Miami Style has too much talent to not be the favorite to win the division. BroncoFan1407 is tough and should easily take second and a playoff spot. Might Meerkats & Timid Moose get hurt by playing in such a tough division. If they were in one of the other divisions, I think they could both possibly fight for a playoff spot.
The South division is not very strong, however it is equally weak which should make for some tough games througout year. i expect Dark Dragons to take the division with Just2Buff a close second. Both will be in playoffs. Cant Stop Wont Stop & Swollen Members will both be decent competitors througout year, but end the end they will both miss playoffs.

South Division
Just2Buff
QB: E. Manning should be a good #1 this year. M Vick should be a servicable starter at # 2. Not real high on A. Smith in SF though.
Rating - 4 - Good starter with a decent backup. Probably need to aqurie another starter somewhere.
RB: RB corp is hurting a bit. K. Jones has the potential to do some great things with M. Martz, but still hasn't proven anything. Benson, Bell, & D. Williams all might not even start week 1.
Rating - 1- No clear cut #1. Too many ? marks and not enough solid players. Team needs to really consider trading for a RB.
WR/TE: R. Moss & R. Williams should be good. D. Branch would be good as well, but with him not on the field, really hurts this line up. B. Edwards has potential to be good as well, but still needs to prove it. Playing with a young QB doesn't help either. I like TE potential with V. Davis, B. Watson, & K. Winslow, but I wouldn't want to count on them every week.
Rating - 3 - I have to go 3 here cause D. Branch is still out, and ? marks surround the rest of the postion. Should still provide solid numbers though with R. Moss & R. Williams.
OL: Good OL with nice mixture and alot of depth.
Rating - 4- Good line. Could use another powerhouse offense.
DL: I like the DL. Strahan, Grant, & Ogunleye should be good starters. E. James could also be a good starter.
Rating - 4 - Strong line, but could use some more quality depth.
LB: Trotter, J. Peterson, J. Porter, & D. Johnson should be a good line for this year. Injuries could hit this position hard though.
Rating -4 - I like the starters in place, but depth needs to be looked at here.
DB: I like E. Reed, R. Williams, S. Taylor, A. Winfield, & C. Tillman. This is a great DB corp.
Rating -5 - No issues here. Nice starters and decent depth.
Overall Total - 25- Team is solid in most areas, however with lack of a standout RB, could make for a disappointing season. Could make playoffs, but probably not get very far. Weak divison helps.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Swollen Members II
QB: P. Manning is a stud. Nothing else here though. V. Young is a project for the future and won't help this year. No other starter beside Manning on this team.
Rating - 2 - Only reason this is a 2 is because of P. Manning. This team is seriously hurting here. I know P. Manning is one of the most durable QB's in the league, but anything can happen.
RB: T. Barber is a great #1. Behind him though, team has only 2 more starters in Gore and Barlow. Both of which I would not consider #2 backs.
Rating -2- Team is weak here. Barber will be solid all season, but without a clear #2, this will be a weakness on this team all year.
WR/TE: I like A. Boldin & D. Jackson. Both should be great all year for this team. I. Bruce & J. Jurevicius are nice reserves that could be nice bye week fillers. J, Witten at TE should provide quailty numbers all year, but wouldn't expect much out of others.
Rating - 4 - I go 4 here cause I think with Boldin, Jackson, & Witten as top 3, this team will see some nice production. Decent reserves to fill in as well.
OL: I like a few of the OL on this team, but needs to add some more quality offenses.
Rating - 2- This is a weak area on the team. With only 1 or 2 great offenses to work with and a couple of average ones, team will find it hard to produce solid stats from week to week.
DL: R. Seymour & A. Brown are good starters. Beyond those 2 though, team is real young at this position and probably won't see alot of help from them this year.
Rating - 3 - Solid because of 2 good staters, but very close to being weak. An injury to one of the starters and this position will be hurting alot.
LB: R. Lewis & J. Vilma are nice #1's. I think Thorton and Colvin could make a solid #2 and #3 respectivily. K. Bell is a ? mark. I think he will end up with #3 or 4 numbers, but he could do better if he stays healthy.
Rating -4 - Good starting lineup, but depth is a problem. Needs to look into aquiring a LB to help out for this year.
DB: C. Bailey is a good #1. K. Lucas was good last year, but don't know if we will see him repeat those numbers again. Corners can be real finicky from year to year. A few other average DB's on this team, but no other standout ones.
Rating -3 - With Bailey as a #1 and a bunch of average DB's behind him, I would expect nothing more than a average season out of this position.
Overall Total - 20- Team is average at best. Alot of weak areas on this team that could really bite this team in the butt. One injury to a key positon (QB, RB) and this team will be near the bottom of the league. If team remains healthy for the most part I can see it fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Won't go very deep though. Weak division could help.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark Dragons
QB: D. Culpepper, T. Green, & C. Simms makes for a nice lineup.
Rating - 5 - I go 5 with the presumption that Culpepper will have a good season. Nice #2 and solid # 3 also helps.
RB: R. Johnson is the only #1 back on this team. In fact, there is no other starting back even on this roster.
Rating -1- With only 1 starting RB on this team, this team will be hurting all year at this position. Needs to make a deal a get another back.
WR/TE: Houshmandzadeh is the best receiver on this team. And I don't believe he is a #1. He fits better into a #2 role. I think Burleson & Kennison have the potential to produce some solid numbers, but having to use them as every week starters could hurt. K. Curtis could provide decent numbers, but with I. Bruce still there, I don't think he will see enough balls. I love Gates at TE. B. Troupe has potential, but Tennessee offense could struggle this year and that hurts his value.
Rating - 3 - A list of average receivers paired with Gates should provide team with an average year out of WR/TE postion.
OL: At least 4 or 5 great offensives to work with.
Rating - 5- No issues here. Should get good stats all year here.
DL: Burgess & Vanden Bosch should be quality starters all year. I would be a little worried that they could prove last year was a fluke. But I think they will be fine. D. Howard should be good this year in Philly. C. Canty could be good this year, but still has to be considered a ? mark.
Rating - 4 - Good line with decent depth. May need another quality guy somewhere though.
LB: LB corp should be good. S. Quarles, K. Mitchell, Dem. Williams, & A. Crowell is a good line up. I think E. Hartwell has some good potential as well if he can return to form.
Rating -4 - Good starting lineup. Should produce good numbers all year.
DB: T. Polamalu, M. Williams should be great. R. Harrison could be good this year, but age and injury concerns has to be a ? mark. M. Adams & D. Grant could be a nice players as well. Alot of younger players that won't help much this year, but could be good in the future.
Rating -4 - Two good starters and a couple of solid DB's should provide team with good numbers this year.
Overall Total - 26- Team is solid for the most part all over, but the lack of RB support and weakness at receiver could cost this team a playoff spot. Playoffs possible due to weak division.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cant Stop Wont Stop
QB: T. Brady, J. Harrington, & T. Jackson. Brady is nice, but the others are not going to help this team this year.
Rating - 2- Have to go with a 2 here. Behind Brady, team is really weak. Another starting QB is a must.
RB: Solid lineup with W. Parker, B. Westbrook, & D. Foster. Injuries could definitly cause a problem though. A few of those guys have been know to be banged up a bit.
Rating -3- Solid backfield that should give team quality stats throughout year, but the injury risk cannot be overlooked.
WR/TE: L. Fitzgerald & H. Ward are legit #1's. E. Moulds should be a nice bye week filler, but I wouldn't count on him to be an every week starter. E. Wilford & A. Lelie have potential this year, but still some ? marks surrounding them. T. Gonzalez at Te is a nice #1, but think we will continue to see a drop off in his production as he gets older.
Rating - 4 - Receiving corps should be good with Fitz, Ward, and Tony G as the every week starters and Moulds, Lelie, and Wilford as fillers.
OL: Too many average offenses with only 1 or 2 elite ones.
Rating - 3- Average linemen produce average results.
DL: I like the line with Umenyiora, Kearse, & Kampman. Umenyiora is a stud. Kearse could see his sack totals back in the double digits again since his first year. Kampman is just solid. Usually provides decent tackle numbers with maybe 3-5 sacks a year. L. Johnstone and R. Bernard should be solid fillers for bye weeks, but would not want to have to count on them as every week guys.
Rating - 4 - Good line should produce good stats throughout year. Only 1 superstar keeps it a 4 rating though.
LB: The recent addition of D. Edwards really helped to strenthen this corp. With him, M. Washington, L. Arrington, & M. Greenwood, this position should see some good production all year. B. Simmons & M. McCoy should serve as solid reserves. M. Lawson is a rookie that could produce, but don't count on him this year.
Rating -4 - Good starting lineup. Could use another solid guy on the bench though.
DB: B. Dawkins, S. Knight, I. Taylor, T. Law, D. Sharper, & S. Brown are all good, but there are some ? marks surrounding this position. Dawkins and Brown are on same team and could hurt your stats. Knight could lose some stats and maybe even his starting job to B. Pollard.
Rating -4 - I like this line up and almost went 5 here, but with a few ? marks surrounding them, I went with a 4.
Overall Total - 24- This team is solid in most positions. Needs some work though at key positions. I expect this team to possibly be in the hunt for a division title if everything plays out right. QB depth could end that hunt though. Could make playoffs if team wins division.

Central Division
BroncoFan1407
QB: Not going to go into detail, but team is full of average QB's with maybe 1 or 2 guys who could shine (Plumnmer & Favre). Plummer will most likely be the starter from week to week.
Rating - 4 - Overall good. Depth here makes you good. Should be fine.
RB: S. Alexander, D. McAllister, & J. Jones are good. McAllister will lose stats to Bush and J. Jones could lose his job to M. Barber. Beyond that. Just potential with other guys.
Rating - 4- Have to go with a 4 because of Alexander. I do think McAllister and Jones could be solid though.
WR/TE: T. Owens, S. Moss, D. Stallworth, & J. Walker gives you one of the best receiving corps in the league. The recent trade of Stallworth was the best thing that could of happened for you.
Rating - 5 - Great core of receivers. No worries here.
OL: Solid mix of OL men.
Rating - 3 - I went 3 here because there is not alot of great offenses here. Some good ones though.
DL: R. Mathis is only legit #1. Alot of average ones behind him.
Rating - 3- Need to get another solid DL to pair with Mathis.
LB: L. Briggs is good. Tinoisamoa should be soiid and DJ Williams should be ok. I like D. Ryans situation in Houston, but he is a rookie.
Rating -3 - I have to go average here with a disclaimer....if D. Ryans performs well, then you are a 4.
DB: Nice DB's. Rhodes, Oneal, Gamble, & Clements are all solid. Darius could bounce back this year as well.
Rating - 5 - Nice lineup. Should provide great stats almost every week.
Overall Total - 27 - Overall good team. Should make playoffs, but with weaknesses at WR/DL & LB, might not go very deep.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$$Miami Style$$
QB: Palmer is a stud. Should be great this year. Bledsoe is a nice #2 who could peform like a #1 given the circumstances he is in. C. Frye is the perfect # 3 QB. Young with some potential, but don't have to worry about playing him.
Rating - 5 - QB postion is great. A true star at # 1 and good backup helps teams to win champioships.
RB: LT and McGahee are great starters. I actually think McGahee could see double digit TD's again this year. J. Lewis as # 3 is nice fit considering his ? marks. C. Brown at #4 also is a nice fit. Needs to hold onto his job in Ten though.
Rating - 5- Have to go 5 here. With possibly the exception of BayDawgs, the best RB core in league.
WR/TE: S. Smith, M. Harrison, P. Burress, & T. Glenn are all legit recievers. T. Heap at TE will provide some good stats as well.
Rating - 5 - One of the best, if not the best, receiving corps in the league.
OL: Good mix of OL men.
Rating - 4- Nice mix of great offenses.
DL: This lineup is just sickening. J. Peppers, S. Rice, W. Smith, A. Schobel, B. Berry & M. Rucker. Nothing else needs to be said.
Rating - 5- Unbelievable line!
LB: M. Peterson, K. Bullock, O. Thurman, C. June, J. Farrior, D. Morgan, & T. Bruschi make up an outstanding LB corp.
Rating -5 - Possibly the best LB corp in the league.
DB: Great here as well. A. Wilson, M. Brown, M. Lewis, L. Milloy, & A. Archuleta are a nice lineup. Having Lynch and W. Allen are nice depth playes as well.
Rating - 5 - Nice lineup. Should provide great stats almost every week.
Overall Total - 34 - Great team.....Has to be one of the favorites for Championship!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Timid Moose
QB: With D. Brees, S. McNair, and J. Kitna., this postion is solid. No real superstar, but should put up solid numbers throughout the year.
Rating - 3 - Again, pretty solid. Even C. Pennington could produce decent stats if he stays healthy.
RB: Either J. Addai or D. Rhodes should put up solid stats this year. C. Taylor should also put up solid stats. I don't think he is going to be great, but I think he should be good. M. Barber, T. Jones, W. Lundy, & J. Norwood all have the potential to be good this year, but right now there are just too many question marks.
Rating - 3- I go with a 3 here only because the team has alot of RB's to work with. If not for the depth, I would probably go 2 based on talent.
WR/TE: I think this receiving corp is in some need. I like R. Wayne, and he should be good this year, but beyond him, there are just too many questions. A. Bryant & M. Muhammed are not in a very good offenses. C. Henry has the potential to be good, if he can stay on the field and out of the back of a police car. D. Carter, D. Hagan, and L. Pope all could be nice future players, but for this year, they probably won't help much.
Rating - 2 - Team is too young at receiver to produce any solid numbers this year. R. Wayne is the only every week starter to count on.
OL: With 2 Giants, a Bengales, Cardinals, & possible Chief along with a couple of decent offenses, this line should be solid. But depth could be an issue.
Rating - 3- Solid, but an injury or 2 could hurt.
DL: Little, Fisher, and KGB should be good starters this year. S . Ellis could be a nice bye week filler. Kiwanuka, Roth, and Dumervil are all future players who will not help much this year.
Rating - 3 - Solid line, but again depth could be a problem. Alot of younger players that are going to have to produce this year in order to have a chance of good things out of this position.
LB: A. Davis, A. Pierce, & W. Witherspoon are all great starters for this year. B. James could have a good year as well. The question mark will be E. Simms.
Rating -4 - I go with a 4 here only because E. Simms has not proven anything yet. If he can have a great rookie season, this LB corp will be great.
DB: Kiel, J. Bullocks, T. Parrish, G. Wesley, & N. Ferguson should provide quality stats this year for this position. D. Whitner could be great, but don't think it will be this year.
Rating - 3 - Hard to decide between 3 & 4 here. I think its a strong 3, but in the end, I went 3 mainly because I don't think any superstars will emerge from this group.
Overall Total - 21- This team is not built to win this year. I do however think it has some potential to upset a few people during any given week. An obvious team building for the future with young talent at almost every position. Possible playoff team, that will most likely lose first round if it does make it in.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mighty Meerkats
QB: M. Hassleback is a nice #1. Should put up great stats again this year. B. Leftwich could be a solid #2, but receiving corp is young and running game is hurting. That could make for a long season for him.
Rating - 3 - I go solid here because beyond Hassleback and Leftwich, this team has no other starting QB. Needs to get another starter added to the roster.
RB: Edge, W. Dunn, & L. Jordan make up a great RB corp.
Rating - 5- I go 5 here based on the talent of the 3 main backs, but team has no other back on roster. I do think another back should be signed.
WR/TE: C. Johnson is a stud. J. Galloway is old, but still should provide quality stats this year. D. Mason could have a good year if he and McNair can catch fire. I like M. Clayton, but with Galloway already on the roster, I don't think he could help much. C. Cooley is the only TE on the roster, but I do think he should be able to provide some help.
Rating - 4 - Team should be able to field 3 good receiving threats every week.
OL: Not alot of great offenses in this line up.
Rating - 3- Solid line. Should be able to provide an average season for the line. Wouldn't count on them to win any games though.
DL: J. Allen & P. Kerney should be great starters this year. Alot of ? marks surround the remaining players on line.
Rating - 3 - Solid only because of Allen & Kerney. Need to aquire another quality starter or two. If one of them goes down to injury, then this line will be hurting badly.
LB: Barnett, Fletcher, Tatupu, Brooking, & Gold make for a very strong LB corp.
Rating -5 - Should have no worries this year from this position.
DB: Boulware might be the best DB on this team. Alot of average DBs that should provide quality points, but no superstars.
Rating -3 - I go 3 here because I think with the depth at DB the team has, it should provide overall solid numbers by the end of the year.
Overall Total - 26- This team could be good this year barring any injuries. Depth at key positions is a must fill, but should compete for a playoff spot.
TOTAL DOMINATION

North Division
BayDawgs
QB: His team is pretty good here. I expect McNabb to bounce back this year and have a pretty good season. The recent addition of D. Stallworth was a huge plus. Big Ben is a nice number 2. I wouldn't feel comfortable with him as a #1, so if McNabb goes down, that could really hurt his season. Billy Volek could be a nice #3, but with the recent addition of K. COllins, he might not see the field.
Rating - 4 - Overall good, only reason he is not a 5 is because of depth and also some slight questions involving McNabb.
RB: With LJ and Portis in the backfield, he has one of the best backfields in the league. Portis does have an injury to deal with which could pose a problem this year for him. R. Droughns is a nice #3 with upside.
Rating - 5 - Have to give him a 5 considering who his starters are. But depth could pose a problem if one of them go down.
WR/TE: I think this area of his team has to be a concern. Andre Johnson is a solid reciever, but I would not want to count on him as a #1. He is a better fit as a #2 with upside. Reggie Brown and Drew Bennett both have potential to put up solid numbers, but right now, thats all it is. I have them both no better than a #3. Crumpler, A. Smith, & LJ Smith make up a nice core of TE's.
Rating - 1 - This team needs alot of help in this area. If A. Johnson goes down, he could end up starting 3 TE's every week. That won't be good.
OL: Great
Rating - 5 - Good core of OL men from good offensives will make for a strong season out of this position.
DL: Here is another area of this team that needs alot of work. D. Freeney is a stud. Behind him however, you don't find much. R. Coleman is good, but I wouldn't want to count on him as a #2. P. Spicer is just a solid #3.
Rating - 1 - Another poor rating here was inevitable. If Freeney goes down, this team is going to be hurting. He needs alot of work here.
LB: Urlacher is the only legit LB on this team. C. Crowder & B. Scott both have potential to do some things this year, but having to rely on them every week could hurt. D. Jackson & K. Wimbley are rookies and cannot be counted on, especially with the log jam at LB in Cleveland. Boss Bailey should only be counted on as a spot starter.
Rating - 2 - Almost went with a 1 here, but I think Crowder and Scott will have solid enough seasons paired with Urlacher to make it a 2 rating. But I think this team still needs to put some time into this postion.
DB: G. Wilson, T. McGee, D. Hall, R. Barber, & R. Mathis make up a great DB core.
Rating - 5 - Has a great line up that should provide him with no worries out of this position all year.
Overall Total - 23 - Overall good team. Should make playoffs, but with weaknesses at WR/DL & LB, might not go very deep.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eternal Ramnation
QB: Bulger, Warner, & Losman should provide a solid season out of the QB postion. Warner could be great, or he could get injured in week one. Losman has been named the starter, but I haven't seen anything out of him yet.
Rating - 3 - Solid. Not spectacular. I don't think he has a clear cut #1. I think Bulger and Warner will rotate based on match-ups.
RB: S. Jackson & R. Brown are nice young backs that should put up quality numbers for a long time. Beyond them though, there is nothing. Need to work to fill some depth.
Rating - 2 - I had to go with weak here since he has noone behind these two backs. Bye weeks and injuries will cost you alot if you don't address this situation.
WR/TE: Holt, Evans, & Horn should be solid. J. Porter is a big ?. D. Clark and R. McMichael are good TE's in good offenses, so no worries there.
Rating - 3 - I have to go solid here. Holt & McMichael are great, but just average at best everywhere else.
OL: Great.
Rating - 5 - Good mixture of OL men from great teams. No issues.
DL: I think team is good here. Abraham and Taylor will be great. R. Hayward, K. Carter, & G. Spires will be average.
Rating - 4- 2 legit linemen and a couple of solid ones should make for a good season.
LB: A. Thomas & Z. Thomas are great starters, K. Morrison & A. Wilson should be solid. K. Dansby is a big ?. With the injury and reports that he has fallen out of favor with the coaches, could be a long year with him. Couple of other LB's that could surprise as well.
Rating - 4 - Good line up for this year. Should have a good season.
DB: Solid group of DB's. Sanders, Coleman, Spencer, & Kennedy should be solid starters.
Rating - 4 - Not great lineup, but definitly should provide a good season out of this position.
Overall Total - 25 - Overall good team. Should fight for playoff spot, but not good enough to go past first round.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raleigh Cerebrals
QB: Carr, Leinart & Rivers. No true #1? Rivers & Carr will rotate from week to week. Leinart should be solid in future, but not this year.
Rating - 2 - Team needs a true #1. Rivers & Carr are #2's.
RB: Cadillac is only true #1. Bush could be great, but could lose alot of stats to Duece. A. Green looked good in his preseason game, so I would expect a decent season out of him. D. Davis is on the verge of getting cut and W. lundy is not helping him.
Rating - 3 - I think solid here is a good bet. Cadillac, Bush, & Green should provide some quality stats.
WR/TE: Chambers is only receiver you can't count on. Coles could be average or he could flop. Bradley Jenkins, and Sin. Moss have potential, but don't think we will see it this year. With H. Miller, J. Shockey, & J. Stevens, TE's are good.
Rating - 2 - Have to go weak here. Chambers can't carry this position all year. The TE's are good though, thats why its a 2 and not a 1. Need some help here.
OL: A few great offenses and alot of average ones.
Rating - 3 - Should be solid at this position, but will most likely be picking up a few OL men off waivers during season.
DL: This is a real weak area on this team in my opinion. Mario Williams is a rookie. J. Smith, L. Castillo, T. Warren, & T. Harris are all average at best.
Rating - 1- When you are counting on a rookie to be your #1 DL men, you are in bad shape. Needs alot of work.
LB: I have to say the LB corp should be good this year. Alot of younger guys though. Merriman, Ware, Hill, Brackett, & T. Davis should provide a solid season from this position.
Rating - 4 - Good, but not great. Yet.
DB: This position could use some help. Dunta & Hope are solid, but not much behind that. Huff and Allen are rookies and Woodson & Chavous are below average.
Rating - 2 - This has to be a concern. Will not get much points this year out of this position if moves are not made to get better.
Overall Total - 17 - This is a very average team filled with alot of youth. Winning this year just isn't going to happen, but team has alot of potential for the future. Will not make playoffs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Creeping Death
QB: Delhomme is only legit QB. Cutler, Walters, & B. Johnson are not going to help you this year.
Rating - 2- I only went 2 here because you do have a legit #1. But bye weeks and/or a injury could cost you.
RB: Very weak here as well. Dillon is solid, but could get banged up and also could lose alot of carries to Maroney. F. Taylor is good when playing, but he has a hard time staying on the field. Nothing else any good behinf those two.
Rating - 1 - Alot of work needed here in one of the most important postions in fantasy football.
WR/TE: Driver should put up solid stats. M. Jones has some potential. A. Toomer should put up average stats in the Giants offense.
Rating - 1 - Very weak here. Only one receiver at this point you can count on. This position needs alot of help.
OL: Good mix of OL.
Rating - 4 - Should be good here. Not alot of attention needed.
DL: Suggs is good. Udeze could be good. G. Wistrom, A. Smith, & R. Brock are average.
Rating - 3- The best you can go here is solid. Need another legit DL men.
LB: T. Spikes, M. Vrabel, D. Brooks, & D. Smith are good. Hawk could provide some help, but as a rookie, can't count on him.
Rating - 4 - Nice core. Shouldn't have to worry to much here.
DB: No DB's really stand out to me here. Alot of average ones at best. Vasher, Harper, W.D. Allen, and McCree are decent, but not great.
Rating - 2 - Need to do alot of work at this spot.
Overall Total - 17 - This is another very average team at best. Has some youth at a few positions, but overall team needs help. Will not make playoffs.

Ok guys, here goes. I did my best to analyze each team and predict the outcome of this year. Remember, this is just my opinion so no hard feelings. Also, all the ratings I gave are in comparison with other rosters in the league. I decided not to do kickers and punters, just the offense & defense.
I made my own scale up to determine the quality of each team positions. Basically its just a scale of 1-5 with 1 being poor and 5 being great.
1(POOR)----2(WEAK)----3(SOLID)----4(STRONG)----5(GREAT)
Miami Style -
Although you didn't give the Cerebrals the props that are deserved;)-this analysis is down right awesome.
It is analysis, commitment, and research like this that makes our league the best!
Great job man - I spent a good 20mins reading every bit of it.
You could be an NFL analyst.....
im gonna have to say your wrong about one thing.....i already won coach of the year with the way ive turned my team around......CSWS is gonna win games this year baby....i garuntee it

I guarantee that Bob is also the worst speller in the league :-). Great review Chad. Enjoyed it and will post some thoughts soon.

Rating System 1 = Needs an overhaul, 2 = Bite down because this season is going to hurt a little bit, 3 = Average Joe, 4 = Things are looking up, 5 = Katie bar the door because we have a Championship to win.
North Division
Raleigh Cerebrals
DB – 3 – Good mix of youth and experience. Unfortunately, the experience is on the downside of their careers. A couple rooks could surprise, but this is not a team strength.
DL – 2 – Williams is going to need a hell of a year to carry this crew.
LB – 4 – This unit looks great for the future. The two things that keep this crew from a 5 are there are no really strong IBs, and it might be too early for the young guys, but few LB units' futures are brighter.
OL – 2 – This unit is close to average if the Dolphins and Raiders show signs of life this year.
QB – 2 – This may be the worst unit on the team. 2 QBs with no starting experiencing, and a QB that may never pan out, if Leinart’s future did not look so bright I would give this unit a 1.
RB – 1 – I am glad I used “may be” the worst unit with the QBs, because RB depth is horrible with this crew. Start drafting RBs and don’t stop.
TE – 5 – Wow…Solid
WR – 3 – Nothing special, but Chambers is solid and one or two guys could breakout this year.
ST – 4 – Vinatieri in a dome, are you kidding me?
Cap – 2 – Not much space, but most of his good players are on their ORC.
Draft07 – 2 – With 4 picks and the first one in the 4th round it will be hard to overall his RB unit in ‘07
Overall – 2.7 – Cerebrals has a lot invested in players draft in ’05 and ’06 if it does not pan out this team could be the doormat of the North division.
Eternal Ramnation
DB – 2 – Sean Jones and Bob Sanders both need to step up for this unit to be close to average.
DL – 4 – This unit is very solid, and Abraham will be better with ATL.
LB – 3 – This unit is looking to breakout in ’06. Very close to being a 4, but some questions still need to be answered here.
OL – 5 – This unit could be the best in the league both now and in the future.
QB – 3 – Is Bulger a top 10 QB with out Martz? Is Losman not a Lost Man with the Bills? Time will tell.
RB – 3 – Needs a solid number 3 back for this unit to be a 4.
TE – 4 – I really like McMichael. Solid TE unit that helps this team.
WR – 3 – I love the possibility of the Losman-Evans connection if JP gets his head out of his butt. Speaking of butts some one needs to kick Porter’s in OAK.
ST – 4 – Solid very solid!
Cap – 3 – Good cap space and once this team gets passed the $7.4M in penalties it should be in good shape. Could be in trouble if his team really performs well.
Draft07 – 2 – Needs more picks and at least one in the first three rounds.
Overall – 3.3 – Solid team in the North Division. The lack of a 3rd RB hurts him.
World Champion BayDawgs
DB – 5 – If Barber keeps playing like he did last year, and the young guys play up to their potential the sky’s the limit for this unit.
DL – 1 – This unit stinks!
LB – 3 – This unit is lead by Urlacher after that someone needs to step up.
OL – 4 – Good unit as long as the Colts have a good year.
QB – 3 – McNabb needs to prove something if this unit is going to better than average.
RB – 4 – 3 Top RBs and then a drop off. If Jacobs can continue his great preseason this unit could be a 5.
TE – 3 – Alex Smith?
WR – 2 – One of these guys needs to step up? Andre where are you?
ST – 2 – Nothing special about his special teams.
Cap – 3 – Good Cap space.
Draft07 – 4 – 9 picks looks good to me.
Overall – 3.1 – The World Champs need McNabb to rebound for them to repeat.
Creeping death
DB – 1 – Vasher is the only one the barely cracked the top 25 last year. This unit is in for a long year.
DL – 3 – Suggs carries this squad, but Udeze could be something special.
LB – 3 – “I’m Back” said Spikes. This team could really good if Spikesgets back to form and Hawk plays as advertised.
OL – 3 – This has some upside potential if the Dolphins, Chiefs, and Panthers are strong.
QB – 3 – I personally feel this could be a huge year for Delhomme if Steve Smith stays healthy and Cutler waiting in the wings is a big plus for the future of this franchise.
RB – 2 – Not a strength needs to find more RBs.
TE – None.
WR – 1 – Needs something more here. Driver’s days in GB are not so bright without Favre.
ST – 4 – Special teams is a bright spot for this team.
Cap – 2 – Has a lot of penalties that could haunt him in the future.
Draft07 – 3 – Draft more RBs!
Overall – 2.5 – Looks like last place this year, but the future could be bright if he can find more RBs
North Division Prediction
1st Place – Eternal Ramnation
2nd Place – The World Champion BayDawgs
3rd Place – Raleigh Cerebrals
4th Place – creeping death
Central Division
Timid Moose
DB – 1 – This unit looks bad this season, but I cannot help but think the future may be bright. There is some good young talent here, but not in ’06.
DL – 4 – Good solid unit here.
LB – 3 – This unit is on the verge of being very good.
OL – 3 – Ross needs to get back on the field for this unit to be a 4.
QB – 3 – Lots of depth but no star. Brees may struggle this year.
RB – 3 – This unit is couple of years away from being best in the league.
TE – 2 – Rookie Pope
WR – 2 – Wayne is the cornerstone of the WR and if Henry can clean up his act this unit may have a chance.
ST – 3 – Look for Scifres to have a good season.
Cap – 4 – Lots of cap room. This team is in good shape.
Draft07 – 5 – 10 picks four in the first two rounds. Can you say the team of the future? If he drafts well.
Overall – 3 – This may be the team of ’08 right now.
BroncoFan1407
DB – 4 – If Darius can rebound this unit could be great.
DL – 3 – With the exception of Mathis this unit is old, but average.
LB – 2 – This team is very close to average, but it needs Ryans to step up.
OL – 3 – A mix of good teams and not so good teams should be OK.
QB – 2 – This is a weak area for the team. Lots of starters here, but no one top tier. BF could pull his hair out every week picking the right QB.
RB – 3 – If Jones can stay healthy and Jones-Drew pans out this unit could be solid.
TE – 1 – I hope BF is not depending on his TE.
WR – 4 – Very solid unit.
ST – 5 – Best in the league.
Cap – 4 – Good cap space and a lot of contract years. This team is well run.
Draft07 – 5 – 11 picks next year and 9 picks in the first three rounds.
Overall – 3.3 – very solid team with a good future.
$$ Miami Style $$
DB – 4 – Solid group that has some room to improve.
DL – 5 – This DL could win some games for him, and DL don’t usually do that.
LB – 5 – This unit is the best in the league. Lets see if Bulluck can still put up number at OLB as he did at MLB for TEN.
OL – 3 – Needs more top tier starters here.
QB – 5 – Palmer makes this unit great.
RB – 4 – Solid unit needs a solid 3rd to be great.
TE – 4 – Heap could explode with McNair throwing to him.
WR – 4 – Steve Smith makes any team good, but his hammy might keep him down this year.
ST – 5 – Solid
Cap – 3 – Average here with the caps.
Draft07 – 2 – not a lot of picks, but he obviously does not believe in building through the draft.
Overall – 4.0 – May be the best team in league, if he can win at the end of the season.
Mighty Meerkats
DB – 2 – Nothing to write home about.
DL – 3 – This unit is lead by Jared Allen, but some oneelse needs to emerge for it to be solid.
LB – 4 – Very good unit with some up side.
OL – 3 – Lots of options here but you can only start 5.
QB – 3 - Hasselback needs to keep it up.
RB – 3 – 3 solid runners, but may lack a number 1
TE – 4 – Cooley could explode in a new offense.
WR – 3 – Very good unit and one more WR from solid
ST – 2 – Little worse than average here.
Cap. – 5 – No one is in a better position than the MM with the cap.
Draft07 – 3 – No number one is a problem here.
Overall – 3.2 – Good team, but needs a solid number 1 RB.
Central Division Prediction
1st Place – $$ Miami Style $$
2nd Place – BroncoFan1407
3rd Place – Mighty Meerkats
4th Place – Timid Moose
South Division
CSWS
DB – 4 – This group is old, but solid.
DL – 4 – With Osi anchoring this group it is solid, but the depth limits the group to a 3-4
LB – 3 – This unit lacks depth, and Edwards days may be numbered in San Diego
OL – 2 – Falcons and Jaguars need to step up for this team to be average.
QB – 4 – A couple of weeks ago this group would have got a 3, but McNair and Collins have shown that there may be some juice left in their arms and points on the table.
RB – 1 – Westbrook needs to be healthy for the unit to have a chance. With no number 1, he needs to overhaul this group.
TE – 3 – Chiefs need to show no drop off last year for Tony to thrive.
WR – 4 – This unit is good and has huge up side. Fitz is a TD machine.
ST – 2 – Hopefully Akers and the Eagles O rebounds.
Cap – 1 – contract years are good, but has no money left ‘06.
Draft07 – 2 – He is saying bye bye to his number 1?
Overall – 2.7 – This team needs to improve the RB situation for it to become better. But, the D looks good.
Just2Buff
DB – 4 – Tillman is a stud and ifWinfield and Reed to rebound this year. This could be a great unit if everything pans out.
DL – 4 – Very solid line and if Carter plays up to his billing in WAS. Look out.
LB – 3 – This unit needs a top 10 to be better than average, but I like Derrick Johnson and Joey Porter will have a great year.
OL – 4 – This is a good group. If the Cardinals and Dolphins’ Os play well, look out.
QB – 3 – This unit is built for the future. Eli needs to keep improving, but the depth is very good.
RB – 2 – No top tier RB hurts, but look for Deangelo to break out in ’06.
TE – 4 – another unit built for the future. Ben Watson is set to have a huge year.
WR – 3 – Branch’s situation needs to improve, and Moss needs to step up in OAK. Look for Roy Williams to have a huge year, but for now there are more questions than answers with this group.
ST – 4 – The kicker club…You cannot start three kickers?
Cap – 3 – Looks great with money, but hardly and contract year left.
Draft07 – 5 – He is going to be busy during the draft with some many picks in the first two rounds.
Overall – 3.5 – Needs to find a #1 RB, but looks like the toast of the South Division
Dark Dragons
DB – 3 – With Troy back there all things are possible, but someone else needs to step up this year.
DL – 4 – If Kevin Williams returns to form this may be the best unit in the league.
LB – 4 – This is a very solid unit, not too many stars though.
OL – 4 – Solid line
QB – 3 – This is a good looking group and if Culpepper can rebound this unit will be lean and mean.
RB – 1 – Rudi Johnson is poised for a huge year, but it needs a lot more for this unit to be good.
TE – 5 – Best one-two punch in the league.
WR – 3 – Average group on the verge of being great.
ST – 4 – Solid special teams
Cap – 3 – He is in good shape.
Draft07 – 3 – He has most of his picks left.
Overall – 3.3 – This guy only one 5 games last year? Look for DD to have a breakout season this year.
Swollen Members II
DB – 4 – Good group not too deep, but needs PacMan to stay out of trouble.
DL – 2 – He has some up and comers, but they need to show up this year.
LB – 3 – After Vilma there is not much else, and I am a big Lewis fan (he is done).
OL – 3 – Average group that needs more depth.
QB – 5 – Payton Enough Said.
RB – 3 – After Tiki there is not much else.
TE – 3 – Witten will be good this year, but the others are question marks.
WR – 3 – Little better than average, but not much.
ST – 3 – Average Joe here.
Cap – 2 – Cutting it close with money.
Draft07 – 4 – Good shape here.
Overall – 3.2 – I think SMII will have a drop off from last year, but he still has a good squad.
South Division Prediction
1st Place – Just2Buff
2nd Place – Dark Dragons
3rd Place – Swollen Members II
4th Place – CSWS
OK,last year's championship isobviously goin' to the Baydawgsdome. TheBaydawgs are the Green Bay Packers of the "Hall of Fame" League
HOW CAN YOU CALL MY RB's a 1????
I haveCarnell (THE CADILLAC) Williams, Reggie (LT WHO?) Bush, and Ahman (I hopeI can last 5 games) Green.....Atleast give myhorses at 3!!!!!

DL - 2????? Mario Williams will put up more points than your entire DL!!! Luis Castillo will be a force for your Oline to wreckin' with and Justin Smith will show your Brownies his true value.
OL - 2????? Dolphins face 8 teams with first time coaches, the eagles, the world champion steelers, the chargers, the best show on turf Rams!!!! Take a closer look DAWG!
Finally - My DB's could run circles around Ronde Barber....can Barber still run in a circle or will his wheels fall off?He and his bro better stick to DirectTV commercials....if you ask me.
Let me sum it up - Miami Style, Just 2 Buff, and Bronco Fan are competing for the championship this year. No question.
Raleigh, Timid, CSWS are building to be the next power houses (2007/8) - don't kid yourself about the potential on these teams.
Creeping, Eternal, Mighty, Swollen, Darkare all strong and might just surprise one of the teams above for 2006 - 08. Each of these teamsare solid now with strongdraft picksin the future!
Teams that don't age well with time - Baydawgs....like they say - you can't teach an ole dawg new tricks.
That's right dawgs - stick with same players and watchyour performance drop off like a Dwight Goodencurve ball fallin' off a table.
Let's get this season started - time to stop the talking!
Remember the Cerebrals are preping for a big 2008, so enjoy your short-term wins - make a t-shirt, and frame it - cause their aren't many more in your future!

I was sitting around on Veteran's Day (thank you to those who have served and are still serving) and thought we were long overdue for some analysis in the league. Much like the NFL, I think you are who you are by this point in the season. So this year's analysis is pretty simple--5-6 good teams, Bay Dawgs and Pen U are probably great teams and the two to beat, and Moose, CD, and the Bulldogs stink. That was easy!
That said, I thought I would do a "State of the League" analysis, covering the next two years and assigning a power rating for each team. The power ranking is not a predicition, as you cannot predict draft picks, one year wonders, etc. It does, however give a good idea of where teams are at now and how well we are each set up for the future. To do this, I analyzed what was the best way of determinig a team's success. To little suprise, I found that adding a team's top scorers at each position (enought o fill out satarters and 1 backup) almost perfectly mirrored the points standings. 5 DB, 4 DL, 5 LB, 2 QB, 3 RB, 4 REC. I did not analyze K, P, or OL. Not that they are not important. OL in particular are very valuable, but they are generally onshorter EFS contracts than their skill position counterparts, and OL reflect entire offenses. As we see every year, team offense is all over the map from year to year in the NFL, so I left them out of analysis. Ks and Ps are also valuable, but from year to year it is realatively easy to find competent special teams play. My other considerations, 2007 and 2008 draft picks, potential free agent losses (both ufa and rfa), salary cap, and availability of the franchise tag. I ranked each team at every position listed above, 1-12; 12 points for the best and 1 point for worst. The 2007 draft was worth 0-10 points, 2008 draft worth 5 points, RFA 6 points, Cap room 5 points, and the Franchise tag 2 points. The other rankings are pretty cut and dry. If you're wondering about the frnachise tag points, here's my thought process: IF you don't have the tag, but nobody of great concern on your roster is going into RFA, you get a 0. If you have the tag and nobody is coming up on RFA, you get 1. If you have the tag and a valuable player IS going into RFA, you get 2. One team actually received a -1 in this category because the tag had been used and 2-3 very good (and I suspect highly coveted) players are going into RFA. When analyzing positions, I did not count upcoming free agents because they cannot be counted on to part of that same team next year. So I took the teams top returning players at each position.
I had to wait to finalize my analysis because I have a few weekly traditions on Saturday:
1) Get up to change my son's diaper and take our morning father/son jog.
2) Figure out what games are on TV for Sunday so I can see if I have to go to a sports bar on Sunday or sit through crappy games at home. I still haven't got DirctTV; and by the way, I've got the Redskins and Browns games today--I'll be at Buffalo Wild Wings if you need me!
3) And most importantly, at 9:55 CST, I get to watch my favorite football moment of every weekend. Lee Corso putting on the mascot of his pick. This week--Razorbacks. Although Chad (Pen) probably remembers when he picked the Canes--classic!
That said, a perfect score on the "index" would be having the best composite score for starters and 1 back up at DB, LB, DL, QB, RB, REC, the best draft picks in 2007 and 2008, standing to lose the least in RFA/UFA, having the most cap room, and having an available franchise tag to spend on a great player-keeping him on the roster or logging 2 #1s. If a team accomplished all of these things they would have a perfect 100, and the rest of us wouldn't have a prayer.
So without further ado, I'll start from the bottom and work my way up. Here is the bottom third; I'll post the rest later tonight.
12) Creeping Death-This team is in some trouble.
DB-M Minter, A Rolle, P Watkins, N Vasher, and Anthony Smith. Minter is about done I think, and he is the best option on this team. The other 4 are young guys with talent, but certainly not sure things in EFS.1 pt
LB-AJ Hawk, D Brooks, M Vrabel, D Smith, T Spikes. Hawk looks like he may be worth that high draft pick after all. Brooks is nearing the end, but is still a play maker (for now), Spikes is close to being done, and Vrabel and Smith have been workman like but are getting older. Overall, Hawk can't make up for the age and eventual decline/retirement of the others at this position. 2 pts.
DL-T Suggs, G Wistron, K Udeze. Sounds good, but hasn't panned out. Creeping is also conspicuously missing a 4th DL (for now). Suggs should continue to be good, but Wistron and Udeze are probably just average options at best. 2 pts
QB-Delhomme and Cutler. Well, Delhomme hasn't been big this year, but is still a solid starter. The problem lies with the back up. There isn't one who is guaranteed to be a starter. Cutler certainly has a ton of potential, and I moved Creeping up because of it, but who knows how good he will be and when Shanahan will turn him loose. I think it should be next year, upgrading this score, but who knows. 2 pts.
RB- C Dillon, Maroney, F Taylor. This has been a solid tandem this year, but there are a lot of ??? going in to next year. Maroney should emerge as a stud very soon in New England. What happens to the other two is what hurt the score in this category. At the very least, I don't feel like both Taylor and Dillon will be in positions to be as good next year as they are this year. 4 pts.
REC-D Driver, M Jones, J Avant, T Carter-I think Driver will be good for antoher year or two, IF Favre sticks around. If not, I think his numbers suffer greatly. I do think M Jones will continue to improve and raise the WR composite score for CD. Unfortunately, yhere's nothing else here. J Avant and T Carter are probably never going to be weekly starters, and might be good fill in guys with some luck. 1 pt.
2007 draft-Has entire draft except 2nd rounder.5 pts.
2008 draft-Has every pick 4 pts.
Cap Room-In the bottom half, and considering team struggles has been fiscally irresponsible at best. 2 pts
RFA-Only stands to lose 2 middle of the road guys in Aaron Smith and Will Allen. Will receive mid-level picks if they leave; probably a good value. 4 pts
Franchise tag-He's applied his franchise tag to T Suggs. Fortunately, no one of any consequence is leaving. No harm no foul. 0 pts
Overall Future Index: 27
11) Dark Dragons: This is a good team. The future drafts are not in bad shape, but his offense has to be fixed or will sink this team's future.
DB: Polamalu, Madieu Williams, A Bethea, O Atogwe, R Harrison. The top 2 should anchor the DBs for years. Atogwe has bee na pleasant suprise, but will probably end up a solid #4 at best. R Harrison has to be near the end og the road (doesn't he?). I can't see tis unit improving much into next year, but a good group nonetheless. 8 pts
LB: L Marshall, K Mitchell, S Quarles, A Crowell, D Williams. Not a bad group, but nothing all that special about them either. Quarles is getting older, and Mitchell and Crowell are probably just really solid #3 LBs. 5 pts
DL: D Burgess, Kev Williams, VanDenBosch, J Hall. Very good unit. Burgess is doing this on a terrible team which is impressive. Kev Williams is a monster, VandenBosch is showing he's the real thing, and J Hall has been pretty good. Age is not a factor for this group. 10 pts
QB: D Huard, D Culpepper. Uh-Oh. Huard can't be counted on, and is in RFA to boot. Speaking of ghuys who can't be counted on, let's talk D Culpepper. Everyone may have a different opinion, but I am not a fan of this guy, and I think his best days are already well behind him, even though he's still very young. 1 pt
RB-Rudi Johnson, L White, N Davenport. Dragons should go to bed every night praying to the god of slightly overweight and out of shape running backs that L White pans out next year. Rudi Johnson has been a stud and should continue to do so for the near future, but White is still in question and Davenport would need about a dozen starting NFL RBs to retire this year to get a full time job somewhere. 1 pt.
REC-A Gates, Houshyourdaddy (championship), Keyshawn, E Kennison. This is not a bad group, though Kennison and Keyshawn are not standouts. The top 2 here are very solid and should continue to be so for a few years. 5 pts.
2007 draft-All picks except 2nd rounder. 5 pts.
2008 draft-All picks. 4 pts.
RFA-Not really losing any great impact guys. However, if Huard is somehow the starter here for next year, his departure could hurt. 5 pts.
Salary Cap: Only 4 teams in worst shape. 2 pts.
Franchise Player: It certainly hurts knowing your franchise tag is attached to an injured guy. However, unless Huard is the starter here next year, it shouldn't hurt much. 0 pts.
Overall Future Index: 46
10) CSWS: Can't Stop has talent, but has other issues to deal with.
DB: D Bullocks, B Dawkins, I Taylor, Sh Brown, C Lowry. This is a good group, but Taylor is in the dog house in Pitt, and Dawkins is probably slowing down. S Brown and C Lowry are not impact fantasy players at this point. Bullocks could still be a stud, but he'l need a lot of help in the future to get these DBs where they need to be. 3 pts.
LB: M Washington, A Davis, M Greenwood, L Arrington, R McIntosh. As I'm typing their names, it seems like they should be at the top of the league. However, McIntosh brings down the group. IF he starts next year and becaomes a player, this group slides up. Greenwood is not a fantasy standout, and I get the feeling Arrington may never be again. 1 pt.
DL: A KAmpman, L Little, M Anderson, O Umenyiora. The numbers don't lie, and this group is suprisingly the best in the league. Add in that Umenyiora should be back 100% next year, M Anderson becoming a bigger part of his team's D, and L Little still being young enough to avoid decline, and this group should still be at the top for the future. 12 pts.
QB: T Brady- Brady will still be a stud for several more years. Statisticly, I suspect 2006 will become his standard for a "down" year.CSWS wil ahve to find something for the backup situation. 4 pts.
RB: Westbrook, W Parker, T Jones. A very good unit. I have to thing T Jones may not be the starter in Chicago next year, and that could hurt this group some. However, the top 2 guys should be great for a few years as long as they're healthy. 10 pts.
REC: R Wayne, Reg Williams, Klopfenstein, and D Givens. WOW! Not a good situation for the Fighting Bobs. Wayne has been cash money, but the other guys aren't even worth what you can find in Grandma's couch cushions. Reg Williams could continue to improve, and I think Klopfenstein could be a spot starter, but Givens is probably worth very little at this point. 2 pts
2007 draft: A pair of 4ths, 3 5ths, and two 7ths. Missing naything in the first 3 rounds and that could hurt.4 pts.
2008 draft: Has all picks, but has given up his 5th for an extra 4th. 4 pts
Cap Room: The least cap room in the league. As I stated earlier, this team has talent, but it also has some glaring needs, and not having much cap room ties his hands some. 0 pts.
RFA: Several players could leave this year in RFA, but none of them are huge impact guys, and this team could get as many as 10-15 mid-round draft picks to help his squad.6 pts.
Franchise Player: The tag has been used on Brady. There is nobody in this RFA group worthy of the tag, so no big deal. 0 pts.
Overall Future Index: 46
9) Benton Park BullDogs-This team looks better on paper than they have been to this point. However, the Bulldogs do have tons of cap room and most of their draft picks for the next 2 years.
DB: D Williams, C McAllister, M Boulware, KKaesviharn, D Hester. Going in to the year Aaron told me this was a need area, and I would say it still is a huge need areagoing forward. Nobody in this group stands out at all, and there needs to be some talent infused here. 4 pts.
LB: L Tatupu, N Barnett, C Haggans, K Brooking, I Gold. One of the top[ units in the league. Tatupu and Barnett should continue to put up good numbers for several ye ars. Haggans is an assassin. Brooking and Gold are probably not going to improve their numbers, but as #4 and #5 respectively they should continue to be more than suficient.9 pts
DL: J Allen, V Holliday,P Kerney, M Spears. This is a good unit, and Kerney has missed some time this year. Allen looks very good and doesn't seem to be just a 1 year wonder. Not spectacular at all, but solid and young enough to contribute for another year or two. 8 pts.
QB: M Hasselbeck, B Leftwich. If I was the coach in Jacksonville, I think Leftwich's days would be numbered. Hasselbeck should bounce back next year and will have a myriad of weapons to work with. Very badly needs to address back up. 5 pts.
RB: W Dunn, EDGE. There is no #3 on the roster, and that's bad. Even worse, if EDG doesn't get some OL help he's going to fall into the depths of mediocrity for good. And W Dunn, whop continues to be very good, is getting older and I have to believe Norwood is on the field more next year. 5 pts.
REC: Chad Johnson, J Galloway, M Clayton, P Crayton. Well, the top 2 have been great, but Galloway isn't getting any younger. THe #3 and #4 are incredibly weak and must be upgraded. Johnson should bounce back next year. 3 pts.
2007 draft: Has two 2nd rounders and has lost his 1st. 4 pts
2008 draft: Rounds 1-7. 4 pts.
RFA: He stands to lose L Jordan, L Flethcer, C Cooley, and some other role players. This could really hurt the Bulldogs. 1 pt.
Cap Room: Best in the league. Noone has more cap space to make up for deficiencies this off season than the Bulldogs. 5 pts.
Franchise Player: He has his tag available, and that could help greatly in keeping one of his RFA guys.2 pts.
Overall Future Index: 50
Timid - That was awesome! I can't wait for the rest of the analysis.
It is great to see other's views of the current league situation.....

The forums were down yesterday, so here we go. Teams ranked 5-8.
8) Swollen Members
DB-PacMan Jones, K Lucas, T Newman, M Trufant. This is not a good unit, and he only has 4 guys returning; none of which are standouts. Jones has disappointed since being drafted, and the other three are solid pros, but not great fantasy options. Definately a weak spot for the Swollen squad. 2 pts
LB-Ray Lewis, J Vilma, EJ Henderson, G Ellis, R Colvin. Raise your hand if you just tore your achilles...Thank you Mr. Ellis, you may put your hand down. Vilma is very good in the middle and has a bright future. Ray Lewis can still play, but his numbers are done going up. Ellis, when healthy, is a very good DL, but just slightly above average LB. Colvin and Henderson do absolutely nothing for me, and little more for Swollen. 3 pts
DL: T Hali, Alex Brown, R Seymour, M Patterson. Hali looks like he will be a stud. Alex Brown is probably more valuable the Bears than to Swollen, but still very good. Paterson is a great DT, but average DL at best, and Seymour is the poster boy for great player, average (or worse) fantasy player. The top two guys should carry this unit for the next few years, and the other 2 guys add good depth.7 pts
QB: P Manning, V Young. V Young is a few years away from being a legit fantasy starter, if he ever becomes consistant enought o earn that tag. However, he has plenty of time here with P MAnning in front of him. This may be the optimal QB situation; a stud QB who can be counted on every week, and an electrifying young guy who could be something special. 12 pts
RB: F Gore, M Morris, V Morency. This is not good. Gore has established himself as a stud RB, and if his injury concerns are behind him he's a top 10 guy for the next few years on an improving 49er offense. That's the good news. The bad news in V Morency is not an NFL starter, and I don't think he ever will be. M Morris has some skills; enough so that the Seahawks almost let Alexander go to play Morris. But for now, if Alexander is healthy, Morris will be a situational player at best. So, a top 10 caliber RB, and absolutely nothing else.2 pt
REC: D Jackson, A Boldin, J Witten, S Holmes. A very good unit. DJax is a star, and this offense is built to be productive for a few more years. Boldin is a bit of a conundrum, along with the entire ARZ offense. A great young QB, Boldin, Fitz, EDGE...WE SUCK AGAIN! Well, he should be very good despite an up and down season this year. Witten is a very good, and very under utilized TE, but an average receiving option for us. If someone, we'll just call him "the Player" would stop being a ball hog, Witten would be a top 5 TE. S Holmes has raw talent, but is a ways off from making a fantasy impact. 7 pts
2007 Draft-Has pick in all rounds.8 pts
2008 Draft-Has pick in all rounds. 4 pts
RFA: Champ Bailey, I Bruce, S Rogers, Jurevicius. Stand to lose some talent, but nothing overwhelming by any means. 3 pts
Salary Cap: 9th best in terms of cap room. 1 pt
Franchise Tag: Still ahs the tag; not sure if any of the above listed is qorth tagging, however. 1 pt
Index: 50
7) Raleigh Cerebrals-Tons of young talent; may fight for cap space and picking up additional talent in this year's draft.
DB: C Hope, D Robinson, J Joseph, M Huff, J Allen. The good news is this is a group of athletic, young guys with tons of upside. The downside is that the 3 rookies in this group haven't produced much yet. I believe they will eventually, adding to C Hope, who has been great after moving to Tenn. D Robinson will be good but not great for several more years. 6 pts
LB: D Ware, S Merriman, G Brackett, L Hill, T Howard. To quote me the first time I saw a topless dancer..."Wow". Ware, Merriman, and Hill are 2nd year guys who can flat out play. Assuming Merrimanstays away from the juice (and I have no doubt he and many, MANY, others are juicing) this group should be great for years. T Howard is intriguing because of his speed to the ball, and Brackett is a steady guy that should be around for several years. 11 pts
DL: Justin Smith, L Castilo, M Williams, E Dumervil. I like the futures of M Williams and E Dumervil. Two more strong rokkies from what looks to be a great 2006 draft class at DE. L CAstillo is solid, but it's tough to put up big numbers for a DL in the SD 3-4. Justin Smith ahs been good for years, but I suspect his numbers will come down over the next 2 years, closer to his career average vice the career year he's having in 2006. A very good group. 9 pts
QB: P Rivers, M Leinart. Raleigh also has D Carr for good measure. Rivers has turned out to be everything he was supposed to be. His potential may only be limited by Marty Schottenheimer, and the fact that they may not have to throw a ton in some games because of that slightly above average RB they've got in SD. (Sidebar...I can thin k of no good reason the Chargers don't where the powder clues with the old AFL helmets every week!) Leinart is showing some good signs and some bad, but I still think he becomes a solid player and is very capable of being Raleigh's backup. 9 pts
RB: J Lewis, C Williams, R Bush. Not bad, but not great either. Bush appears very electric, but if he doesn't learn the speed of NFL defenses and how to run between the tackles, he'll never elevate to the next level. ANd, as long as Deuce is in N.O., Bush should be the compliment/trickery/change of pace guy. J Lewis has been solid, but his best years are behind him. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Ravens go another direction. And Williams (and oh by the way, enough with the damn "Cadillac" analogies!...the wheels have fallen off, he's in the garage, Alstott is the Escalade...Enough already. We all get it!) has to be utilized more. This OL is pretty bad, and until the bring a better group in to pave theroad forCadillac (Great, now I'm doing it)his upside is limited. 3 pts
REC: L Coles, C Chambers, Shockey, H Miller. I really like this group. The ranking doesn't do them justice, but I think Coles will be solid again next year and Chambers will break out if he ever gets a QB he can count on. Shockey is obnoxious and fairly annoying, but he is very good, and if Manning ever learns to utilize him, he'll be a force for everal more years. H Miller doesn't get thrown to nearly enough, but will be a dependable #4 for many years. 6 pts
2007 Draft: One 6th rounder. Ouch. 3 pts
2008 Draft: All rounds 1-7. 4 pts
RFA:C Woodson, A Green, M Goff, J Tait, C Chavous. Some decent players here, but the picks may be a better value for most of them if he can get them. 5 pts
SAL CAP: Second to worst in the league. All those great rooks love their $$$. 0 pts
Franchise Tag: Has the tag, and may be able to use it, but certainly nobody really demands it this off-season. 1 pt.
Index: 57
6) Bronco Fan: A good overall team that should be competitive for a while.
DB: K Rhodes, A Henry, W Harris, C Gamble, N Clements. Doesn't sound like much, but as a group they are outscoring everyone else's projected top 5 DBs for next year. Rhodes has look rediculous, and I'm not sure he can keep his level of play this high, but he's very good. The other guys don't jump off the screen at you, but they're getting it done. 11 pts
LB: D Ryans, L Briggs, L foote, DJ Williams, Tinoisamoa. Ryans and Briggs will make this LB corps potent for years. Unfortunately, L Foote is average at best, Williams doesn't contribut greatly because he is a strong, fast athlete that doesn't tackle well, and Tinoi...is just not reliable as a weekly starter. 4 pts
DL: R Mathis, C Okeafor, M Rucker. Missing a 4th, so that will have to be addressed. Rucker, like the entire CAR DL, has been disappointing overall.MAhtis is a good starter, but not good enough to carry an otherwise weak DL. 3 pts
QB: T Romo, Plummer. I wouldn't bet a nickel on Plummer's future in Denver, or the NFL for that matter. HE can still play alright, but Cutler will see the field fairly soon, I suspect. However, T Romo looks outstanding. I feel confident saying the Eagles would have been undefeated last year if Tony Romo was there QB:-) This score is probably lower than it should be, but Plummer is a big question mark, and Romo has to do it again. 3 pts
RB: S Alexander, Ju Jones, D McAllister. Alexander will be back next year, andI believe he'll return to the top at RB. McAllister and Ju Jones are not great, and both have nmbers stolen from the "#2" guys on their respective teams. However, they are a very good 2 and 3 tandem for Bronco, and young enough to be counted on for a few years. 8 pts
REC: J Walker, TO, S Moss, Stallworth. What a unit! Health is a concern with the last 2 guys, and TO is and always will be a couple of misguided steps and comments away from burning his next bridge, but assuming everyone is healthy and conformant, this is a monster unit for the next couple of years.10 pts
2007 Draft: 2 1st, 3 2nd, 3 third, 2 4th , and a 7th. This will add a lot of talent to an already good team. 10 pts
2008 Draft: A pair of 1st, and rounds 2-7. 5 pts
RFA: G Hayes, D Garrard, T Henry, Favre, T Pryce, M Furrey, and a few others. Could lose several good players, but the draft picks he stands to receive are a good value for most of those guys. 3 pts
Salary Cap: 10th in the league. 1 pt
Franchise Tag: Has his tag and has one or two guys he could use it on this off-season. 2 pts
Index: 60
5) Timid Moose: A lot of holes to fill, but lots of cap space and draft picks to work with.
DB: J Bullocks, Ko Simpson, D Whitner, L Bodden, C Rogers. Not a bad group, but not a single #1 among them. Bullocks shows flashes, but hasn't put it al together. Bodden is very consistent, and C Rogers is a bad NFL corner, which leads to lots of tackles...ironic, huh? Needs a #1 and probably a #2. 5 pts
LB: Witherspoon, E Sims, M Lawson, M Boley, B James. The bad news is that James has been a disappointment, and Lawsno and Boley are probably #4 guys at best. However, Witherspoon has been terrific and should be for a few a long time, and E Sims is really becoming a player. A young unit with some upside; still probably one playmaker away. 8 pts
DL: M Kiwanuka, B Fisher, B Berry, S Ellis. Kiwanuka, if given an expanded role next year, could be a star. Fisher is probably a #3 and can't replicate his 2005 numbers. B Berry is vastly over apid, but could be a viable atarter for the next year or two. S Ellis has stunk this year, but looked real good this week. Probably not a horrible option for a #4.Needs a star, but not bad overall. 4 pts
QB: D Brees, T Jackson. Jackson should get a chance next year. Here's hoping Troy Williamson isn't the #1 WR in Minnesotta next year. Drew Brees has been unbelievable in New Orleans. I'm sure Nick Saban goes to bed every night thanking God he invested Dolphin $$$ in Culpepper instead of this guy...maybe not. Moose probably needs a proven backup to bridge the gap, but Jackson could be a future starter, and Brees is a legit stud for the near future. 6 pts
RB: J Addai, M Turner, M Barber III. I didn't even want to draft Addai, but I'm glad I did. He looks like the real deal, and with the other weapons in Indi, he should be good for several years. Turner could be a stud if he gets a chance somewhere else, and I gambled thinking he will get that chance next year. Barber is the "back up", and isn't explosive, but has 6 TDs in his last 8 games. Only 2 guys (both known by their initials) have done better than that. So logicly, I think Barber should be referred to as MB3 from now on.Some question marks, but future looks bright. 6 pts
REC: L Fitzgerald, C Henry, J Cotchery, D Carter. Fitz is still a somewhat unknown commodity. He's a beast for sure, but his hamstring issues and concerns with the offense are troubling. In two NFL seasons, C Henry has shown incredible talent, very poor judgement, and a lack of heart when going to get the ball. If he can get rid of at least one of those negative attributes, he could be very valuable. Cotchery is inconsistant, but looks to be a serviceable #3, and Drew Carter needs to be upgraded badly.4 pts
2007 Draft: Three 1sts, Three 2nds, 5th, two 6th, and 7th. 6 picks in the top 24.Draft picks are never guaranteed to pan out, butif I threw darts at a draft board I should be able to get a couple of impact players here. 10 pts
2008 Draft: Rounds 1-7. 4 pts
RFA: T Cole, KGB, J Miller, Muhammed, Berrian, Kitna, Pennington. Could lose some guys hat can play, but picks are greater help to Moose rebuilding. 6 pts
Salary Cap: Second to only Bulldogs.5 pts
RFA: Has tag and player(s) to use it on. 2 pts

I'll be back with teams 1-4. I hope everyone enjoys the read, and if I'm wrong, my next analysis will be free of charge (and unsolicited), just like this one.

The last installment of future indexes. If the first two postings showed teams with some promise that needed to fix deficiencies in order to compete over the next 2 years, this installment shows 4 teams that have worked hard to get where they're at, and need to work to not screw it up:-)
4) Eternal Ramnation: No glaring weaknesses on this team. Present and future look very good here.
DB: B Sanders, J Philips, S Jones, E Coleman, ans S Spencer. A great collecton of young players. Sanders has to stay on the field, but when healthy he anchors this group of impressive players. E Coleman will probably bounce back with betternumbers next year, and if he's only needed as a #3 or 4, this group is in good shape.7 pts
LB: A Thomas, Z Thomas, Al Wilson, K Morrison, K Dansby. I thought going into the offseason that Dansby might be a superstar in the making. Instead, he's shown he may ahve some character issues. His talent alone makes him a great #3/4 LB however. The Thomas's are not young, and Zach in particular should not see an increase in nubers for the remainder of his career. Al Wilson is not great, but can still play and is a great #4. K Morrison is a young guy providing great depth. This is a good unit that could use an injction of youth in the offseason.10 pts
DL: J Abraham, J Taylor, T Laboy, K Carter. Abraham could still be a stud, but he has to prove he can play more games in a season. J Taylor is still all over the field, abd probably has two great years left in him. Laboy and K Carter are inconsequential for the most part, though they can make occasional big plays. An above average DL with Abraham, in bad shape without him. 6 pts
QB: Bulger, Losman. If there was any doubt, Losman really stinks. He just can't get it done, and probably should be a #3 EFS guy at this point. The good news for Eternal is that Bulger is a stud. Even in transitioning to this offense, he has looked very good. I expect his numbers to curtail this year, and Pace being out doesn't help, but he'll be back and performing at a top level next year. 10 pts.
RB: R Brown, S Jackson, J Harrison. Brown has run very hard for a crap offense to this point. He is also very invlved in the passing game, and I think he's a top 4 RB on a bad offense. Jackson has been very good this year, but I imagine Faulk will take over as the starter next year...just checking to see if you were still reading! Jackson should be a top 10 back for several years here. Harrison is intriguing. He hasn't been nearly as involved as I thought he might be this year, but if Drougns continues to be mediocre, I would think he sees the field at some point. The #3 spot should be upgraded here, but what a strating tandem. 7 pts
REC: M Colston, T Holt, J Horn, L Evans. Just like everyone else, I knew Colston was the number 1 receiver of this group all along:-) Colston looks like an absolute beast! And he was great again on the road ion Pittsburgh this week. Holt has answered any questions about being a top WR in a new system, and Joe Horn has contributed some when on the field. Lee Evans is not a bad #4 for Eternal, but sadly could be a good #2 if he had a QB and a better system. Horn should probably be swapped out for a younger player, butall in all, a good group that should be great for a few more years. 8 pts
2007 Draft: Rounds 4-7. 4 pts
2008 Draft: Rounds 1-7. 4 pts
RFA: B Thomas, D Thornton. Doesn't lose anyone of great concern...doesn't stand to gain anything of great concern. 3 pts
Salary Cap: 6th in the league. 3 pts
Franchise Tag: Has the tag, noone to use it on. 1 pt.
Index: 63
3) Bay Dawgs-The Dawgs have 1 championship under their belt, and aren't going anywhere.
DB: G Wilson, S Schweigert, R Mathis, D Hall, G Earl. Wilson has been an underachiever this year, but should be back in full force next year. Nobody in this DBackfield stands out, but they are a solid unit as a whole, and still young. 8 pts
LB: D Jackson, Urlacher, Ch Crowder, Fujita, K Wimbley. 2 rooks and the second year Crowder could carry the LBs here for a while. Add in Urlacher, who will be in his prime for several more years, and Fujita who is greatl yunder rated, and you have a very good and promising LB corps. Wimbley will have to prove he can be a legit LB, and Fujita should regress some next year.7 pts
DL: Tyler Brayton, D Freeney, R Coleman. No #4, Coleman is average, Brayton only wishes he could be average, and Freeney has been stifled this year. Without Freeney playing at an all world level, this line is horrible. With him coming back to form next year, they climb a few spots, but are still below average. 1 pt
QB: MC Nabb, Roethlisberger. Mc Nabb is a very good player and is a must start every week. He should be good for the next several years. Roethlisberger is not a great fantasy QB, but will be good, and is exactly the young, consistant guy to have as a backup. Dawgs are set here. 11 pts
RB: LJ, C Portis, B Jacobs. Jacobs may get a shot to start next year, but I don't think he's a lock and may not be a great #3. LJ is a monster, and is a #1 for a long time to come. Portis has top ten skills, but he's always dinged up it seems, and I suspect that offense will see some changes in the offseason. LJ anchors this unit, and if Dawgs can add one more quality guy, he'll be even better. As it is, I still think he's the best. 12 pts
REC: A Johnson, Reg Brown, A Crumpler, G Jennings. Jennings has missed some time, but he's shown some flashes, and is a good option at #4. Crumpler sontinues to produce, and fills the #3 role, while Reg Brown has really established himself this year. And Andre Johnson has finally become the beast he has shown flashes of. He should be a top 5-10 WR for years to come. A very good young unit who could stand to add another solid starter. 9 pts
2007 Draft: 1st, 2nd, two 3rds, two 4ths, 5-7. Should have a good draft. 8 pts
2008 Draft: Rounds 1-7. 4 pts
RFA: R Barber, T McGee, C Kelsay, D Scott, B Scott, J Saturday, M Light, Des Clark, R Droughns. Bite down on this pillow Dawgs, this offseason could hurt.1 pt.
Sal Cap: 4th best cap situation in the league. 4 pts
Franchise Tag: Tag is on McNabb, and he could certainly use it to help retain one of his young stars entering RFA. -1
Index: 64
2) Just2Buff-No rea lweak spots here. Fairly impressive what Just2Buff has done with this squad.
DB: S TAylor, Roy Williams, K Hamlin, E Reed, C Tillman. Taylor and Roy Williams have continued to make plays all over the field. Reed has not got it done, but if Ed Reed is your #3, you're in good shape. Hamlin and Tillman fill out a young and very capable DB corps. 10 pts
LB: Ju Peterson, J Trotter, D Johnson, L Johnson, Greenway. Peterson has played out of his mind to this point, but we'll see if he comes back down to earth. Trotter is nearing the end I suspect, but continues to be solid in the middle. Greenway may be of some help upon his return, and D Johnson is a great athlete, but mediocre tackler. Unit needs at least a good #3, and maybe more. 6 pts
DL: C Grant, Henderson, Ogunleye, A Carter. I really thought Carter was over rated and over paid going into this year, and that has held true. Ogunleye is very underrated, but doesn't put up great fabtasy stats. He does fit the bill as a #3 DL, however. C Grant has reemerged some after a down year, but is not a true #1. Buff needs some upgrade here, but it's not terrible.5 pts
QB: M Vick, Al Smith. Alex Smith continues to improve, and I think he's a great #2. Vick shows signs of improvement, but I don't think you want to count on him every week. His style of play lends itself to inconsistant numbers. Not a great situation, but good enough to win! 7 pts
RB: Kev Jones, Ch Taylor, T Bell. Kev Jones has started to really play well this year. Hes heavily involved in the passing game, and IF Martz is back, I like his sucess to continue. Ch Taylor has been very good, and I think he'll continue his solid performance next year. T Bell is the starter, no second string, no starter...who knows. But he's not a bad #3, and can put up big numbers when given a chance. 9 pts
REC: Roy Williams, K Winslow, D Branch, Br Edwards. With Branch re-emerging in Seattle, this is a great group of Recs. Roy Willams is an absolute machine in Martz' offense, Winslow is annoying as nails on a chalk board, but he's very god. Braylon Edwards is a big play threat, and if the QB in Cleveland can play decent football, Edwards should excel in the next few years. 12 pts
2007 draft: Two 1st, two 2nd, two 3rd, 5, 6, 7. Very good. 9 pts
2008 draft: Rounds 1-7. 4 pts.
RFA: A Winfield, Strahan, S Phillips, Joey Porter. Could weaken defense. 2 pts
Sal Cap: 3rd best in the league. 4 pts.
Franchise Tag: Has the tag and some good candidates to utilize it on. 2 pts.

2006-11-14, 21:15
This is the last installment, for sure. The #1 team for the future, is probably the #1 team now.
1) The Program, Miami Style, Penetentiary U...no matter what you call them, they're very good.
DB: A Wilson, R Marshall, A Samuel, Arhculeta, R Harper. Assuming Harper comes back to the form he showedin the beginning of thisseason, this unit should be very good for years. A Wilson is a stud, and anchors the line, but Samuel and Marshall; arereliable starters as well. Ths is a great DB, and young to boot. 12 pts
LB: C June, K Bullock, A Pierce,M Peterson, E Barton. Agreat unit. June is playing out of his mind, Bullock continues to be a top LB, and should continue to do so, and A Pierce and M Peterson (should be 100% next year) areconsistentforces at MLB. Barton adds a nice depth option, though certainly not great. This squad also features D Morgan, but he can't be depended on. 12 pts
DL: J Peppers, W Smith A Schobel, S Rice. This unit is lights out. Only one team has outscored PenU at DL. Smith and Peppers should make this line one of the elite in our league for several years. Schobel is getting older and Rice is really wearing down, but can still be #3 and 4 for sure. 11 pts
QB: C Palmer, R Grossman. Palmer should return next year to a topl level, assuming the OL is healthy and much better than it is now. Grossman is young, but inconsistent, but may be a perfect backup. Young, tons of upside, and doesn't need to be counted on every week. Grossman is not capable of being a #1 in my mind, but could do great things filling infor injuries or a bye week.8 pts
RB: LT, W McGahee, D Foster. LT needs no analysis, just consistently great. McGahee is a great talent in a bad, very bad, offense. And quite frankly,it's not good news that A Train came in off the bench and smoked what McGahee has accomplished so far. I do think McGahee will be given every opportunity to succeed, but I'm just not sure he'll bein aposition to do much for the next year or two. D Foster hasn't done much this year, but does have upside, and isstill young. He may be a #3 next year, but I look for PenU to upgrade here in the offseason. The score here is still very high, because I think LT is that good. 11 pts
REC: M Harrison, Steve Smith, H Ward, ToGonzalez. An incredible group. M Harrisonis not young anymore, but he's still as close to a lock every week and every season. Just keep Manning in Indy and this guys good for a few years. Steve Smith may be the most exciting guy in football, but injuries alwways seem to get him a little. H Ward is also very consistent, and as a #3, it's almost not fair.Gonzalez was playing very well, almost suprisingly well, until the injury. He's nearing the end I think, but should be more than capable as a#4. 11 pts
2007 Draft: No 2nd rounder, two 6th andtwo 7th.6 pts
2008 Draft: two 5th. 2 pts
RFA: T Glen, R Geathers, J Farrior, J Runyan. Nothing major and could get a few mid-level picks. 4 pts
SAL CAP: 5th best in the league. 3 pts
Franchise Tag: Hsa the tag; probably nobody who warrants it this year. 1 pt
Index: 81
Hope it was enjoyable. Good luck to all and hope the league is all back next year.
