Just a thought here. What do you all think of making the rookie draft for this league only 5 rounds? That way, there is a pool of players to select from, and the 7th round isn't just getting the players that are left. That would create some drama for undrafted free-agents, etc. If we have 7 rounds and there are only 7 rounds of players available, teams at the end of round 7 are forced to select whoever is left.

We already had discussions about this and the whole idea behind this league is to mimic the NFL as much as possible. Therefore the rookie draft will be 7 rounds, which will put your practice squad to full use.

Well, except for that part where we are not allowed to draft players who were undrafted but desireable in the real NFL draft, but I digress.

i think he is referring to guys that are signed after draft concludes and those who are hardship types like Ahmad Brooks was a couple years ago. those guys typically we cant bid on until they have made roster, usually first week of season

Yes. That is what I meant. Thank you for clearing up my tangled mess of words. At times, I single handidly can destroy the English language.

Keep in mind that we won't have compensitory picks added to the draft. Last year there were 255 players drafted not 224 (every round after round 2 had more than 32 picks). That's 31 NFL compensatory picks which would mean 31 rookie FAs after the draft.
