lets say i had a player on my PS for 3 years. i decided to cut him in anticipation of getting 2 of those years back. i cut him, and i get zero of the years back.

why is this?

i've looked anywhere i would think it might be mentioned in the rule book and i can't find it anywhere. why do PS players contract years not go back to my available years?

also, when i promote someone from the PS, are their years then subtracted from my available years?

i know i've been on here for a while, but i have never noticed this problem before.

if anyone else can point me to the page in the rule book that will explain it all, please do. i can't find it anywhere.

Players on the practice squad do NOT count against the contract cap. That's why you didn't see any years back -- because none counted in the first place. This is in the rules somewhere. Once you promote a PS player, then their contract years go against your contract cap.

It's been this way forever, so i don't know why you didn't notice it until today.
